would be happy to see norv come in as OC

i dont really want phillip rivers but i dont want sanchez either. definitely not looking forward to the turnovers well see from rivers. plus i dont think cro wants back in sd, and revis for rivers? if the new gm came in and did that, then he is the worst possible gm we could have hired,

Is this real life? Philip Rivers is awful. Looks like his arm is dead.

I don't think they'd be stupid enough to make that trade straight up to be honest.

All Rivers did last year was throw for nearly 5000 yards and 27 TD's. That's nothing special? This will probably be the first time in 5 years he hasn't thrown for 4000 yards but he'll be pretty close and still may hit that.

    Code:
pct	yards	avg	TD	INT	rating
    2012	64.1	3,606	6.8	26	15	88.6
    2011	62.9	4,624	7.9	27	20	88.7
    2010	66.0	4,710	8.7	30	13	101.8
    2009	65.2	4,254	8.8	28	9	104.4
    2008	65.3	4,009	8.4	34	11	105.5

Yea - sign me up. He turns the ball over but he also produces a LOT of offense. If Sanchez produced as much through the air as Rivers it would be a lot easier to accept the turnovers. He's also doing it with a lot more attempts, so more turnovers are bound to happen.

of course it is true, it is an internal discussion within the Jets. they have probably had internal discussions about tons of ideas that the other teams involved would never actually participate in.

If any teams stupid enough to trade for Sanchez we should jump at any offer especially if it brings us a pro bowl quarterback.

Because the Jets are in a real bind with Revis. He is under contract for 2013 only and he can't be franchised. If they don't sign him next year, he will leave in free agency and the Jets get nothing for him. If they sign him, the cost will be prohibitive and, frankly, he's just not worth it. No CB is worth what Revis wants. Plus, as good as he is, he is a selfish player who is only in it for the money. In today's NFL, teams go with 3-5 WR on passing downs and Revis can only cover one. The Jets should develop a pass rush and stop with the stockpiling of expensive CBs. QBs and pass rush are the ingredients for a winning team, not a running game and DBs.

Get a first round pick for Revis and start the rebuilding process the right way. You don't win in the NFL when your best players are a CB, a DT, an ILB, and a C.

    Totally agree with your thinking.
Our secondary has shown it can thrive without Revis, and with him looking for a bigger payday every other year, i say let him go to a team like the Cowboys or somewhere else where we can get something worthwhile in return.

Rivers has had over 4000 yards 4 times. Going from a bottom 5 QB to someone who consistently moves the chains will be a world of difference for a team with a good D. Yes, I know he isn't elite.

That being said I don't know what we could trade them for Rivers. Suckchez would be part of a package obviously.

Ill take Rivers ALL day over Sanchez.

Got to get him a line, a pass catching RB, and a wideout tho.

I LOVE Revis but our secondary played well without him...

i would seriously consider a trade like this:

    Rivers + 1st For Sanchez + Revis

save cap money, we get rid of Sanchez and we get a good pick.

They'd obviously be an upgrade over Sanchez/Sparano, but keep in mind that the Rivers/Turner combo hasn't exactly been setting the league on fire recently.

Rivers has thrown 541, 582 and 527 passes the last 3 years, by far the highest numbers in his career. His arm may well be feeling the effects of that as he also passed the 30 mark during that span.

Question is why would the Jets be doing this w/o a GM?

I would take Rivers everyday over Sanchez. But the problem here, is that, we maximize Revis' values by trading him alone. If we are trading Revis, I'd much rather trade him alone than with Sanchez, and try to get the best possible combination.

I'd do this deal. Rivers still has a few good years in him, probably more than Brady or Manning. Rivers >>>>>>>>>> Sanchez.

Make it happen...who ever is in charge. Sadly, we have no one in charge, so any deal with anyone could be weeks away. Norv may be locked up by then.

If Revis is involved in this deal we better be getting more than Philip Rivers.
