Because you have Macc as a GM, Chris Johnson as a CEO and Woody in the background. There are other teams who are in better shape right now. Teams with better rosters like the Browns who have an established GM that has built a perennial winner. Now given the choice, Cleveland is a more attractive destination. I think they also have a ton of cap cash but at least their GM won't waste it. Harbaugh ain't coming to the Jets and the reason why is because its the Jets and their image as a disorganized, bumbling franchise that can't get out of its own way. Hell, Harbaugh would be better off taking the Packers job than the Jets job. I have a feeling that for coaches looking at a legacy, the Jets are at the bottom of their lists. For first timers, they'll be knocking down Macc's open door. The reality is, the Jets need Harbaugh more than Harbaugh needs the Jets.. Start the bidding at $150m with $75mil guaranteed.
A GM who's bad at spending money, a GM who's bad at drafting, and a second year QB coming off a disappointing rookie season. Of course, firing the GM would make the job more attractive but...
The Browns have a tougher division to play in also...Ravens,Steelers,Bengals....The AFC east will be wide open as soon as Brady loses a step or retires which is gonna happen sooner rather then later..
Do you really think that's gonna matter to a coach like Harbaugh? The man said he prefers Cleveland and even mentioned the Packers. If the Jets weren't in the initial conversation according to Harbaugh, I doubt if anything Chris Johnson comes up with short of total control will put the Jets in the hunt.
If they lose to Ohio State at home next year with Urban Meyer gone he'll be viewed as possibly the worst coach in Michigan history, which just shows you how important that game is. Him staying is actually a very bold move, with loads and loads of risk/reward possibilities.
