Time of game and situation would dictate it. You have to be thinking about a plan B if that stampede of Carolina's gets going early like they have the last 2 weeks.
Yes for sure. Brock also holds onto the ball for an eternity which can lead to more turnovers in both fumbles and late throws over the middle getting picked. The other thing that's important to note is Peyton is always going to get you into the correct play vs. Whatever the defense gives you. It's especially important against a defense coached by Belichick. When he returned versus San Diego it was obvious. He came in, and while only throwing for 69 yards, he immediately lead 2 (maybe 3?) scoring drives by checking to the run in light 6 man boxes. I don't think Kubiak has the nutsack to change to an unknown from possibly the greatest QB of all time. If he does the Broncos will have been down by 30 points.
Totally agree. The more I think on it, the more I believe it will be Peyton ' s call to make, not Kubiak. He's smart enough to know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Although that's a reasonable argument, the problem is that when Brady was only managing the offense and had the better defense, the narrative of pro-Brady camp was that Brady was better simply because he won the games and Manning was not as good because he couldn't top great defenses. Now that Manning is just managing the game and Brady can't beat great defenses the argument isn't being applied to Manning simply because he won. If the argument is that Manning isn't elevated because his defense than the same would have to apply to Brady early in his career as well which is what has always been primarily used in the Manning/Brady debate.
I agree, Osweiler is an unknown. But Peyton as unlikely to cost the Broncos points does not hold up this season. He has cost them many points through his turnovers, and also left many points out on the field, including in the playoffs. Eventually you are going to run into a team where you can't cover those warts. I think that happens in 2 weeks.
Yeah I rethought and re-posted on that point, it will be Peyton's call, not Kubiak's. But I'll disagree with leaving on his shield. He'll put the team before himself if the decision arises.
I wouldn't underestimate the guy who is probably going to play his last NFL game ever in about two weeks. I expect him to leave it all on the field. I'm excited the same way one would be excited to see Babe Ruth play his last game ever, and it's Game 7 of the world series.
Maybe Brady is the greatest QB ever, but with all the Patriots have got up to we'll never know. His career cannot be fairly judged.
