The coaching staff is terrible and that includes the OC, but you can’t blame them for Petty air mailing receivers, throwing at their feet, behind receivers, etc. He was downright embarrassing out there when he dropped back to throw. He looked okay at stretched last year so what the hell happened to him? He looks like he has never thrown a football before today..... It’s hard to put into words how bad he was
How many practice reps did Petty get this year with the starters? He was good with Anderson last year because they both spent a lot of time playing pitch and catch. This year its been the McCown show but somehow being restricted all year including preseason to playing with scrubs and the practice squad, Petty was supposed to come in and light it up today. Lets see who Blowes names as his starter next week. I hope its Mackenberg but they'll give him a weeks worth of practice with the starters.

Bowles said a week or two again that Petty and Hackenburg have gotten no reps with the first team - 0. Hopefully whoever starts next week will get to throw the ball unlike last year. It seems likely that Bowles would rather concede the game with 3 runs and a punt every possession than let someone else throw.

WTF kind of planning is that? How do you not prepare your primary backup to play? If your primary Qb goes down and your backup has ZERO reps with the starters, what on earth do you think will happen?
