im here to take my comeuppance. i NEVER thought someone would be so foolish to select pat mahomes at the 10, forget about trading up as far as they did to do it. i still think he will be a turd but andy reid obviously saw something he liked. good luck to him.

So... 4 years from now? For a QB they went up to get in the 1st round?

    Got it!

I'm sure you know more than Andy Reid, Sean Payton, Pete Carroll and anyone else that was interested in this Uber talented QB.

Maybe so but I'm not dumb enough to think I know more than some of the greatest offensive minds in the game.

Who knows it took until year 4 for Rodgers to supplant a Hall of Fame QB in Farve, itll probably take Mahomes a lot less because Alex Smith has no guaranteed money after this year. All I know is he is by far the most talented QB in this draft and the NFL agreed with me cause he went in the top 10, he needs polish tho and refinement. Yes he'll need time but u wouldn't wait 4 years for Rodgers??, it wont take Mahomes that long but I bet when he starts playing he will succeed.

I thought there was a good chance the Chiefs would move on from Alex Smith this off-season but instead they drafted his heir apparent, likely to try to get him on the field next season.

I think if Kirk Cousins had actually been available in a trade or free agency that the Chiefs would have been major suitors, looking to package a 1st or 2 and Alex Smith for him. They probably would have paid the 2 1sts for Cousins if the Redskins did not use the exclusive tag.

Mahomes in the perfect situation with Andy Reid (an offensive guru who absolutely knows how to devastatingly use a strong-armed QB) in KC and getting to sit behind Alex Smith for a year, on a roster loaded with offensive firepower. I'll wait for a season or two to annoint him - look at how DeShaun Watson has comparatively dropped off this year after a mind-boggling rookie campaign once DCs got used to his particulars and had an offseason to really 'prepare' for him. But that KC offense is a buzzsaw for sure.

We can all make excuses but we would give our left nut for him to be on the Jets

I loved Mahomes as much as anyone and I’m loving what he is doing right now and he’s exciting as all hell to watch. We’re in good hands with Darnold though so it doesn’t sting as bad as it would if we didn’t have Darnold right now.
