Here are my predictions/who I think should win:

    Best Picture: Argo/Django Unchained
    Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis/Daniel Day-Lewis
    Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence/Naomi Watts
Best Supporting Actor: Tommy Lee Jones/Christoph Waltz
Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway/Anne Hathaway
Best Director: Steven Spielberg/Benh Zeitlin (Since Quentin Tarantino wasn't even nominated)
Best Original Screenplay: Django Unchained/Django Unchained
Best Adapted Screenplay: Argo/Beasts Of The Southern Wild

    Who are your picks?

Best Acting Oscar goes to Oscar P for his performance in his bail trial last week:)

rarely see movies on the big screen, but any aussie nominated is a bloody good effort

Generally agree with your predictions/should win. Only one I think might be off is Screenplay. While I agree with you on the should, if Zero Dark Thirty isn't winning elsewhere, it may steal the win from QT.

I could see De Niro winning best supporting actor for SLP.

Not that anyone cares, but the only one I got completely wrong was Best Director. Surprised Lincoln got completely shut out, but was no surprised Argo did well, because well Hollywood loves a movie that makes Hollywood look good. It was a good movie, I just think in 10 years it won't be talked about like Lincoln and Django Unchained will be.

I agree with your take on Argo. Add in that Ben Affleck is a bit of a redemption story that also appeals to Hollywood's sense of itself. But putting aside the inside baseball politics of Hollywood, Lincoln was definitely the better picture compared to Argo.

Was very happy with how the overall night went...Life of Pi was a huge winner which was very awesome...Wish it had won Adapted Screenplay though and Argo for Best Picture.

And even though DDL is one of my 3 favorite actors in the business and now that he is a 3-time champ...If there was anyone to deserve that its him...I honestly felt Hugh Jackman gave the better performance this year.

Biggest wtf was Brave winning best animated over Wreck-it-Ralph...Academy needs to realize Pixar isnt the best at everything, even though I love them...Wreck it Ralph was hands down the best animated film of 2012

Agreed, I loved Wreck It Ralph. Waltz winning was the best part of the night though, because it was so deserved, yet many thought it would not happen.

Django Unchained was most definitely the best picture.

Totally agree. Waltz was amazing in Django

I thought so too, but I was pretty biased considering I loved just about everything about Django Unchained...and everything Tarentino makes for that matter.

My initial response was "Tarantino please make a lunatic movie on how the Oscars screwed you". I too am Tarantino biased, however, I tried to remain impartial this time. I have seen all pictures that were nominated and none compare to Django Unchained - Perhaps Lincoln. When we talk about best picture, it entails acting, writing, art, sound, and more. Django had ALL OF IT. Argo just didn't cut it for me.
