When this hole cap mess comes more into focus - if we have any room to bid whatsoever - would y'all rather see us pursue an OL or a DT? I doubt we can be active in attempting to acquire more than one starter; so if it came down to choosing one position or the other, what say you? Two examples: 1. Kemoeatu, Ravens - 6'5/350lbs. If we're moving to the 3-4, he fits like a glove. 2. Andre Gurode, Cowboys - 6'4/314lbs. A decent, young guard. With Mawae and probably Kendall gone, we need bodies. I'm sure there are many more possibilities, but I'm wondering what's more important in FA? What/who do we think we can get via the draft? Signing an OL in FA means one less pick spent on OL in the draft. And signing a DT means we don't have to use a pick on DT at all in the draft. Personally, I'm not sure. Part of me wants Gabe Watson at DT in the draft, so I'd rather wait. But OL is more important right now and I think we should ink someone in FA if we can. So, what should it be? cheers
i'd love Bentley, but I don't see us having enough cap room for him. and while Sam Adams may be a nice short-term pick-up, he's not the answer at 32 years old. I think we want someone who can come in and play for a while in a new system. That's what entices me about Kemoeatu, only 4 years in the league. cheers
ah, i didn't know he'd be heavily pursued. Considering our cap situation, I think Doug Flutie would be too expensive. That's why I'm debating which position it should be, DT or OL. Chances are, if we want a starter, we can only go after 1. Since OL is so deep this draft, I'm leaning more towards signing DT and drafting OL; although, I'd like to sign an OL so we have more flexibility come draft day. cheers
The question was if we had a chance to sign one FA, he said nothing about money, so lecharles bentley.
