The Jets did upgrade the weakest part of the line in free agency and added a little depth as well at guard/center. I feel like next year will be the year of the Oline in the draft.
It feels like the individual parts are greater than the sum of this draft because they didn't get an offensive lineman.
nope, Bowles doubles as the o line coach, he thought the D line guys we took were O line due to the massive size, what's the difference right ?
Jets had the 30th ranked offensive line in 2017 according to Pro Football Focus. But I shouldn’t be upset we drafted a 25 year old Dlineman from D2... https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-ranking-all-32-offensive-lines-from-the-2017-nfl-season
Nope he was 43 on mayocks board!!!! Lol we probably got a better D linemen who has had success against NFL talent by trading our late 7th round pick, taking Shephard may have been ok for some team but there were o line options and pass rush options on the board for us in round 3 and I fear we fucked up
On some level, the Jets do understand the importance of offensive line because they spend so many resources trying to defeat them. Interesting that they don't seem to care about their own line being defeated.
The perfect end will be when, out of panic, they make Darnold the day 1 started so he can get maimed for life. The gaggy/bowels way!!
Wait.. .does being ranked 30 out of 32 mean our OLine really does suck? At this rate, Darnold will challenge Hackenberg for most time on the roster without playing a single down. And he'll be lucky too if that happens. Especially with a new blocking scheme being installed.
We lost sheldon mo and early we had no one on the d line except Williams and big Steve we needed d lineman. We also need another cb so we could finally get rid of buster. The te was ranked the 5th best te in this draft. The rb sounds like a steal and a lot of our picks were picked to go higher. We got a center in free agency who took care of our biggest weakness we also signed a center guard to help in free agency too. This draft was known to be a weak draft for o lineman. So we filled holes with best players available. How insnt that not a good draft. Next yr we will have 114 million to sign a pass rusher and o lineman. Our cbs and safeties are set 3/4 or our linebackers are set now we have some depth a d line. I would call this a good offseason. We got Enunwa back Pryor and Anderson and Kearse. With some young kids mixed in. We got depth at rb now some young te who can catch the ball. No more 7 yard passes to ASJ. This was a building process we are extremely young extremely hungry. You saw it in games last yr. we were in almost every game last yr and had leads in 4th quarter on the panther, patriots and falcons. This team I should building the right way and most of all we got our franchise qb and being 49 I can say I have only seen one that was close and that was Pennington.
