don't want to pull this thread off-topic (and youtube videos aren't a scouting tool vs. game tape) but here's a quick look at this beast--me thinks young Sammy would like: .
Gotta look for the whole games on YT.Best can do w.o having the actual coach’s film. Thanks for the info..ive watched alittle of Issac Nauta out of UGA & he has some special potential as well.
as a few posters have mentioned ... John Simon I would love to have him he's had a few good years in the past but when I say a few I mean one and he's still pretty young ...
It's puzzling why the Jets haven't brought him in or signed him. They don't need 5 safeties on the roster or four TEs AND a FB.
Thanks! IMO the Jets should definitely sign this guy. I'm surpised that no one has picked him up yet. Do you think it's his contract ($4 million for this season)?
https://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2018/09/jets_workout_tracker_which_nfl_free_agents_are_the.html This is a short article on players the Jets have brought in so far this week for workouts. I'm glad that Mac is still looking to improve the team. I especially like the fact that he brought in 3 DEs (pass rushers) to possibly help improve the pass rush. My only problem is that John Simon wasn't among them, but hopefully he may be scheduled to come in this weekend or early next week. Of the DEs brought in, Kikaha is probably my favorite due to being more consistent (8 sacks over 2 seasons vs 5 over 3 seasons for Orchard, and more forced fumbles), although Orchard had an interception that he returned 46 yards and one this preseason that he returned 64 yards for a TD) followed by Orchard. Tapper is 270 lbs and too big. IMO he's more of a 4-3 DE size. The others are all in the 245-255 range and 24-25. Players the Jets have brought in for workouts this week are as follows: Kickers - Dan Bailey, Matt McCrane, Roberto Aguayo DEs (OLBs) - Nate Orchard, Hau'oli Kikaha, Ryan Delaire, Charles Tapper QB - Connor Cook, Davis Webb WR - Breshad Perriman, Travis Rudolph CB - Josh Robinson TE - Jerrell Adams
https://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2018/09/jets_workout_tracker_which_nfl_free_agents_are_the.html Update: The Jets brought in John Simon today (9/6) for a workout, as well as Cornelius Washington (292 lbs), who truly is a DE rather than an OLB. On 9/5, the Jets also brought in K Jon Brown who spent last season on the Bengals' PS, OL Rees Odhiambo, OL Will Holden, LB Hayes Pullard, WR Hunter Sharp, CB Tony Lippett, and RB Mark Thompson. At least Mac is looking for someone else to help the pass rush and some OL help.
Transaction today: Cut- FB- Thomas Promoted to 53 from PS- LB- Luvu Note- this opens a PS spot.. perhaps OT- Garcia?
