Marc Ross was on NFL Network this morning, ex Giants Player Personnel Executive, and he said that many in the organization believe they screwed up passing on Sam Darnold. There is also a lot of belief that they will draft a pass rusher with their first round pick and roll with Eli one more year
This is a tantalizing pairing to make, but I see such a high probability of this personality pairing (Mayfield/OBJ) not working out over the long haul. On paper it looks amazing, and I'm SURE it will pay some huge dividends in spots, games, and maybe even over a full season, but for the amount of money committed to OBJ while structuring the entire Browns org around Mayfield, I'd be reeeaaalllly leery as a Browns fan. It sucks because it's the kind of deal that it's insanely hard to turn down for your super young/cheap franchise QB. One of the best WR in the league, with an insane amount of talent to back up his production, off to one of the best statistical career starts we've ever seen in the history of football. But goddamn do their personalities paired together with everything at stake scare the hell out of me.
Agree completely. Their offense is a fuckin POWER HOUSE right now: Baker Mayfield Nick Chubb OBJ Jarvis Landry Antonio Callaway David Njoku
This is true. If he is able to play at all. League still has to make a decision on that, and chances are he has to sit the entire year
Still can't figure out what the Giants are thinking. Is Eli still the man or not? Are they win now or rebuilding? They can't seem to decide, which is the worst of all worlds. Which makes me very happy, of course.
Giants shoulda cut bait last year and drafted Darnold....a year to late but no reason to keep a diva wr around they will win 4 games regardless.
