Season starts in 25 minutes vs the Kings. 8 games away from the Garden to start the year. Cally with the C, Richards ready to go, Gaborik ready to get injured. Lets Go Rangers.

I was surprised to see Avery placed on waivers. He's a prick, but he's the sort of prick you love when he's in your team's jersey. And he's also a better hockey player than he's given credit for.

Avery wears out his welcome after a while. I don't want him back.

I'm sure it'll follow the typical Rangers season formula..

    - Start out great
    - Taper off
    - Fight for the 8th seed
    - Make it in and get destroyed round 1/miss playoffs all together

    Go Rangers.

This. I loved Avery and thought he actually helped the team at first, but that was when he was instigating AND able to contribute minimally on the offensive side and defensive side. He isn't even worthy of the 4th line now. Like Torts said "There are just better players than Sean Avery available."

Yup. They should be like 12-2 to start the year then be mediocre until the last month.

Gotta show love for the Rangers. Seeing Sather hand out ridiculous contracts to Gomez, Drury and Redden made it feel much better to be a Leaf fan during the JFJ era.

Hank was unreal last night, one of the best games ive ever seen him play. But lets not forget that for the first two periods the Rangers still looked awful. Terrible penalties, hardly any shots on goal, sloppy execution etc. Thank god the four goals in the third period made up for that. Huge win to get in Vancouver.
