I'd prefer Rosen if this was the case. Either way the next 24 plus hours can't get here quick enough. There will be more rumors and other craziness. Not sure what will happen but it's going to be crazy until about 9pm tomorrow once all the qbs go.
Lol I agree. All smokescreen now. Would love to know who though. From what Dorsey said last week I'd go with Allen, but from what you hear from others taking size out of it Mayfield is the best qb in the group. I've brought into the Mayfield hype and would love for him to be our qb but now I am a little nervous.
The Browns own writer last night said if was between Darnold and Mayfeild and that Allen was never really in contention.
If we take Allen over any of Mayfield, Rosen or Darnold, I'm gonna freak. I might have to ban myself! LOL Hopefully, Cleveland takes Allen, but I can't see Dorsey being that dumb. He has a great eye for talent. If he takes Mayfield, Cleveland will be in the playoffs, if not the SB a lot sooner than we will.
I agree my top 4 are: 1. Mayfield (because I hae brought into the hype and I love his accuracy). 2. Darnold: Turnovers scare me but if he can be coached up what he did two years ago will translate to the NFL (USC qbs scare me though see buttfumble and Leinhart). 3. Rosen: Would be higher but concussions scare me. 4. Allen: Hackenburg written all over him.
I think what would be even more interesting/crazy is if the Browns take Allen and the Giants take Barkley. Darnold would be there to take.
Browns should know already what they are doing with #1. Then again, this is the same team that missed out on a trade due to not submitting the paperwork on time. They probably have a good idea about 4, but the chips will need to fall before they definitely know.
I don't want that to happen, because I think Mac would take Darnold simply because he's higher rated by the media, and I think that would be a big mistake.
I have recently been turned off by Mayfield. His Behind Baker series is a bit annoying and eye opening. I think he worries too much about his image. I'm taking Darnold over Mayfield in this draft.
I hear the Giants will take Darnold if there. No one knows for sure. Really feel like this is the most intriguing draft in awhile.
Allen has prototypical size, is more athletic and has a cannon for an arm. That's about all he has going for him. He has problems seeing the field, is slow making decisions, and has accuracy issues. He has never had great production at any level. You have been blinded by his arm and dazzling plays, but there's no consistency. He's gonna bust. Bank on it. Mayfield is 100x the prospect that Allen is. Mayfield's arm is the 2nd strongest in this QB class. He has the best accuracy, is the most efficient, makes great decisions, gets the ball out quickly, has a quick release, doesn't turn the ball over, has a great football IQ, and is a great leader and competitor. It's not even close.
They definitely might do that, but I also think they are enamored with Barkley. They might pass, but like you said, who the hell knows lol.
Haven't seen it but the off field stuff makes me nervous. Sometimes more about the brand than the sport. But if he's that good I don't care.
