    Taken from ESPN/New York Today:

Nice article. Very frank, not over the top praise or criticism.

Heh, using his legs better. That was my eval of Tannehill when he first came out. Dude couldn't throw from a clean pocket to save his life, but I'll be damned if he wasn't lethal on the run.

Dude was awesome throwing the ball while he was being chased by Calvin Pace and David Harris, neither of whom ever had a prayer of catching him.

Lookie here, Cimini is actually writing a thoughtful article.

What a Rex-less podium can do for you...

    sounds pretty on-point to me..

crazy how Cimini's whole style switched when the new regime got here... he left his boy womanish Mehta hanging.

Rich is actually some what likeable now.

Trannyhill is weird ... You would think as a converted WR he would actually run the ball... I never see him scrambling for yards no matter how bad that o-line in Miami was.

Don't worry, he'll go back to being a douche very soon, he can only maintain for so long before his natural tendencies kick in.

Another great factual article by Cimini. He's gonna need a douche article soon or he's getting soft. Lol

If he beats Miami we have a QB for sure...

We score 20 or more with a high passer rating but still lose by 3 to 6 points we still have found a decent QB

I fully admit I wasn't watching all that closely. You'll have to forgive me, a lost year against a 1 win team, but there is talk about these 6 sacks, in your guy's opinion were they mostly the result of Petty holding onto the ball too long? or were they breakdowns on the offensive line? or a combination of both?

A true combo. He could have dumped it off a few times and avoided the hit but the o line did him no favors on a few. One specifically i'm thinking of they were in the red zone and i felt he could have launched it out the back of the end zone. A week of film hopefully cleans this up a bit. Miami should be a very telling game for his development going forward.

They were sending the house practically every play, and yeah, he held the ball too long.

I really don't like this talk that we beat a bad team...yea we did. With a bad team. It's not like we're the pats and expected to win. Not only that we were playing so many backups with a third string qb. As much as people want to discredit the win it was definitely a positive.

Why do you say that? The D and STs could still sabotage the Jets regardless of what Petty does. He could throw for 300 yards and 2-3 TDs, and if the Jets allow a PR or KOR for a TD, and the defense gives up 2-3 TD drives, the Jets could still lose.

he has a really bad habit if his first read isnt open ... he'll pump and then continue to stare down that receiver. obviously after he pumps towards him (and its not a double move), his receiver will draw more attention. but petty doesnt move on to his second read or run, he just waits like the guy is going to miraculously shake three dudes and then he eventually takes a sack

ive seen him do this multiple times in each game in which hes played

TBH, I'm more interested in how Petty plays than the outcome. In fact, I'd love to see a great game from the kid that Jets lose on a last-sec FG.

Yeah, he's an inherently sarcastic shifty eyed bitch.

But, if he sticks to football and stops being a rat he's not bad. He actually does a better job than most of them.

rather have a guy who takes a sack, then a guy ( sanchise, pickpatrick) who throws balloons, and is likely to fumble and/or serve up a pick when pressured. even farve threw an occasional pick, but he had the arm to keep on rifling the ball downfield. petty opened the game witha mistake, but did not give up in the air or on the ground. more reps with the first team should help him get better.
if he was lucky, he'd be the 4th round pick on the cowboys, who invested multiple first round picks on thier offensive line.

I'd imagine it's tough to develop "pocket presence" if there ain't no pocket.

Until they beef up the o-line Petty is gonna be on the move lots.
