    BOOYAH!
    take that Cards!

still doesn't make up for last October, but a great way to start off the season regardless. I'm going on the record right now and saying Maine will get 15+ wins this year

If this first series is any indication, we have THREE solid starters in our rotation, and Maine will be a gem for years to come...

I was in St Louis 2 weeks ago for the Sweet 16 and wore my Mets hat out to the bar. I was greeted with chants of "pond scum". That's the nickname people who live on one of the most polluted bodies of water (Mississippi River) gave the Mets and their fans. Well they can all kiss this pond scum's ass!!! That is what you call a bitch slap....

Day 1: Ruin their flag unveiling
Day 2:Take their rings and shove em up their asses
Day 3: Embarress them in front of their home stadium, and make a statement

Its a VERY GOOD possibility. This Cardinals team is shit. They should give the Mets Chris Carpenter as a penalty for sucking...

you gotta be pleased the way the pitching staff has opened the season. How long before Maine is considered to be the top of the rotation guy he has become. I'm not so sure I have ever seen as good a NYM pitcher get such little fanfare. I'm looking forward to Perez' start.

Well, he hasn't even pitched 100 innings for the Mets yet so that's probably why. Not to mention that Maine had an extremely low BABIP last year, which he is unlikely to duplicate.

they brought it up during the broadcast last night....and i was thinking this after game 2.......this series reminded me a lot of the April 1986 series against the Cards, the season after they broke our hearts and beat us out for the division championship....and the Mets swept their asses that series, 4 games........sort of set the tone for the year..........hopefully it's deja vu all over again....circumstances were slightly different......but I got similar satisfaction this time as way back then......SWEEP...see ya Cards
