Monday: Orlando Hernandez vs. Randy Wolf Tuesday: John Maine vs. Hong Chih Kuo Wednesday: Jorge Sosa vs. Brady Penny We should be able to take 2/3, so I'll say we take 1/3. Pray for some good baseball.
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/06/11/report-adam-dunn-is-already-on-the-trade-market/ Think they'll take Delgado? It's a shame there's about nil chance of Dunn becoming a Met. He's one of my favorite players.
I felt the same way when they mentioned this before Saturday's game. To make it even worse all the "interested" teams are the Mets main competition in the NL. I don't know why the Mets aren't interested in him however given that the 3 positions he can play are all positions where the Mets have old guys that don't figure to be around much longer.
This is the problem I believe Minaya has painted himself into. Delgado is the granddaddy of the Mets after Pedro. If you were able to package Delgado say with Mike Pelfrey and Joe Smith for Dunn, how does that sit with the other Hispanic players on the team like Pedro, Jose, and Carlos Beltran? Please don't say it doesn't matter. These guys travel with each other, eat out with each other and it was Delgado who gave Beltran a much needed kick in the pants last year to get started.
Same here. Everyone rides him for having so many K's, but I'm in the camp that thinks that K rate truly doesn't matter all that much. His OPS is always well above average and his OBP is amazing for a guy who consistently hits .230. Could you guys imagine a 1-5 of Reyes, Lo Duca, Beltran, Wright, and Dunn? With the way Lo Duca's been hitting recently, that's probably the best 1-5 in baseball. If Green continues to hit once he's back, he'd fit in the 2 hole as well this season. :sigh: Too bad it's just a pipe dream. I don't think that Minaya likes guys like Dunn, which is a shame.
I know this might sound ridiculous, but Delgado has picked it up, and I think he's getting a bad rap. I don't see how Dunn will improve our offense.
Not only does it sound ridiculous, it is in fact ridiculous. Yes, he's hit a few extra base hits lately but his BA is still in the toilet and he's OBP'ing .244 for the month of June. I fail to see how he's "getting a bad rap".
I'm officially tired of Cohen's home run call on hits that are clearly not home runs, but we can't tell at home so we think its a sure home run. They have been especially annoying at times when the offense has struggled.
He's been REALLY bad with that this year, usually you can tell that it's not going out though just because of how the outfielder is reacting but on a foul ball its tough. Green off to a nice start.
Beltran with a runner on 3rd and less than two outs. Sigh. Now he can't even get a break when he hits it hard.
