Fuck over priced apple. I would honestly suggest a Desktop unless it has to be mobile. And doing your own build saves you so much money and is literally plug and play aside from the thermal paste

I honestly dont understand the HP praise. They use cheap parts throughout and not even the expensive Envy line holds up over time (mom has one).

I actually need a new laptop too. My Sony Vaio has run it's course. Had it since 2008. Still works, but pretty slow. I don't even know how much laptops cost these days. I will go shopping for one soon though.

Thats the only brand ive had that has held up. All parts on a laptop are generic. You mostly pay for the processing power, ram, storage and video card. They cant be replaced on a laptop save for storage. Theyre built into the motherboard.

The best I've had is a vaio for like 500 new years. Sony has or is starting to kill the VAIO line.

The cases are usually cheap thin plastic shit. HP overall is shit in my opinion because from desktop to laptop my mom and sisters own they all have felt really cheap for the price and don't hold up well after two years of use. The envy is the only one that felt decent but the screen cracked after a gentle close of the laptop.

The only good from HP is their printers.

    Not true dude.

I have an excellent HP Elitebook . Heavy, Sturdy case, I5, 360 GB HD. Less than 350$, had it for over a year no issues.

I am in the market for a new laptop like TDK...I have had mine since 2010, its getting slow but its PC.

It has gone through a couple changes during year 1, and I have Windows 7...I honestly am thinking about buying a Mac because I cannot stand the new Window 8 funky colors and oddball layout.

I want my screen to look like the standard norm, not some fruity pebble puzzle...I also am tired of the constant issues I run into with software downloads.

I am hoping to use both, but this also would begin my introduction to Mac based computers...Sort of a nerve racking experience but I should do it.

    notebookreview.com <-- really good site

used it last time I bought a laptop years ago. ended up getting a Compal hgl-30. Not a mainstream machine but apparently compal makes a lot of computer parts for other companies. Anyway, thing was great for the price. lasted me about five years of stressful fps gaming.

No doubt about it. I think what's important is the user. Some users need more than a browser, some don't. If you don't, get the cheapest laptop possible.

Windows 10 or whatever it's going to be called will be out soon. Thats another factor to consider.

All in all like edge says, it what you want to do with it and need it for. That will most likely dictate what you spend
