Grandyman looked good today let's hope this carries over into the season. Our starters have a lot of potential...next year could feature a lineup of Harvey, Niese, Wheeler, Synergaard, Montero. Nimmo looks stronger and is still young hopefully he can be a key piece. Our bullpen still will likely be our downfall; maybe we can trade Ike for a reliever to help us out

I would be willing to bet right now Montero is not a starter next season. First, they'll have Colon under contract next season. I also think the Mets like Gee, he's a pretty good #5. I think Montero will be traded either at the deadline or offseason for much needed offensive help.

It would be a mistake to trade Montero; he's got too much potential. I would easily trade Gee for a 2B or give up DeGrom for offense.

That may be true, but you have to get offense from somewhere. Out of Montero, Gee or DeGrom, Montero could bring back the most in a package by far.

The Mets don't care about winning now . If they did , Sydergaard and the other kids would start the season with the team . All our front office cares about is the major league clock and money .

One thing people forget: Every other team does what the Mets do. Every other team holds back their top prospects. If I ran a team, I would do it too.

Did Tejada not work at all during the off-season? As a major league player what is he good at? At the very least he should be able to field his position and it doesn't appear that he can do that. Also, I'm hoping Travis d'Arnaud play this season doesn't make me have to change my avatar. I like him there, and it would be a shame if I had to replace him.

Tejada has to field the position well because you are right, he doesn't do anything else of much value. The Mets need him to field well and hit .230 until a better SS can be acquired or developed.

If d'Arnaud isn't the answer, Plawecki will be. Tejada looks like shit...I just don't know what we're waiting for Flores should be getting every possible look at playing SS yet they keep alternating him between 3b and 2nd. Garbage. Chris Young also looks crappy and Puello and Lagares should be our outfielders.

I think you have way too much faith in minor leaguers man.

He is not on the Yankess anymore. The cornball John Sterling nickname goes bye bye.

Plawecki won't be a minor leaguer after this year, and Puello is equal to the talent that Puig is. These guys are starting to exceed the minor league level...They are the top prospects in the Mets organization. Especially Puello. Just wait and see

I'll still call him Grandyman. Difference between Mets and Yankees fans is Mets fans have a personality while Yankees fans need one.

Is it a real nickname, though, or a total Sterling creation?

Doesn't matter he ain't on your team anymore. Gotta feel crummy when the Yankees have all washed up players on their team and are in their downfall, hence why the Grandyman moved to Queens.

Can someone please explain what happened with Tejada?

I heard he spent all offseason in Michigan at a training complex working out getting into the best shape of his life, his body fat % was way down and he looked ripped.

Now I'm hearing his not in shape, a little soft, winded.

    WTF?

Sorry I just assumed you were being snoody and thought the Grandyman nicknamed belonged to the Yankees

Tejada is a joke he's not a major leaguer and Ike is back in a walking boot. Oy things are not looking good
