Muhammad Ali Reportedly on Life Support After Being Hospitalized

I blame that CGI commercial where Ali is fighting Ali.

It was so cheezy.

I mean, wow, that is awful. Going to miss him. Assuming we're talking calendar 2016.

He's seventy four yrs old, he hung tough for a long time.

There's a documentary out there about the Holmes fight and you could see the deterioration at that point.

The Holmes and Berbick fights were the coup de grace tho

 

That Holmes fight is pretty tough to watch

 

We saw that on Closed Circuit TV (remember that ?) back in some theater in downtown Syracuse--on a big movie screen--and it was in black and white with bad sound.

First and last time I ever did that.

Well, yeah, because I can't ever remember NOT hating on the guy during his career. In so many ways, he and Howard Cosell were such a well matched pair. People may have respected their talent, but they were two of the most goddamn obnoxious people on the planet. I only appreciate how necessary and welcome that sort of thing is now that it's gone. If he were alive today, Cosell would stab John Gruden with a salad fork. If his mind weren't pudding, Ali would be calling out all of the pussies that fancy themselves boxers.

He was the best. RIP. Ironic, I just bought a picture of Him and Elvis and put it on my wall a couple days ago.

I'm still pissed at Leon Spinks for letting us all down on the side of light. That toothless fuck with retard strength was the last Great White Hope. Only, well, you know...

My first understanding of who Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali was came from this Life Magazine. I was 10. Made quite an impression.



First fight I really remember with Ali was the Oscar Bonevana fight in 1970.






Remember this fight? Ali versus Antonio Inoki? Lol.
