i was listening to espn radio today and BT was filling in for Stephen A. He played a clip from NYJ gameday on sunday, and whoever does that show said there have been rumors circulating around the NFL, that the Jets were possibly trying to trade UP to the number ONE pick in the draft and selecting USC QB Matt Leinhart. What the clip did not specify was what the Jets were going to give up to Houston for it. If this rumor has any foundation to it; what does everybody think we give Houstin for the pick? Is it a good move? Like me do you think this spells the end for Chad?

The chances of this happening are 0.01%, and if it ever did happen, it would happen in the days leading up to the draft, so there is no use even thinking about it.

Some guy named PeterNorth (yes, I know) posted this at JetNation. Either this is the same guy... well, I'd guess they're the same guy.

I really don't like Matt Leinart that much. I would rather just keep all the compensation we would have to cough up and select either Vince or Cutler.

Not so crazy. I've said all along that the Texans want D'Brick. They will trade their #1 overall for our #4 overall and either add'l picks or a player (Kendall or Mawae maybe?)

All the Cutler & Young lovers on this board need to accept that this is a real possibility. Of all the QB's available this year, Leinart is the only one who could start right away. Maybe the Jets don't want to waste any time getting their new offense going by letting a drafted QB sit on the sidelines and watch a career back-up QB guide them to mediocrity?

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad? Plenty of O-line players available to draft later. Still have Abe to trade for a 1st round pick or player-for-player.

    This might work!!!

I'm not 100% sold on Leinart. I think, if you moved up to #1, you'd have to take Bush.

Why would they want Kendall or Mawae on te downsides of their respective careeers? They would probably want Abe...

    We give:
    #4 overall
    John Abraham
3rd rounder (maybe a future pick as well)

    They give:
    #1 overall pick

What a stupid trade. Why would we give up two first round talents plus a third rounder just to move up three slots? Stop being retarded.

Retarded huh? Look at what the Giants gave up to move three slots in 2004.

If we moved to #1 it would be either Bush or Leinart.

This would be a great move; however, I believe you have to select Vince Young in that situation.

Ya never know...I would prefer Reggie Bush as well, but if they want to leap frog the Siants to have the chance at Leinart, #1 is the only pick to go...

Why? I like Vince Young too, but I don't think we HAVE to select anyone at #1. We have could go with Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, or Vince Young.
