They gave Felix Hernandez a CY Young with only 13 wins....so maybe? Though not sure they’d give it to someone who might not even get 10 wins. If I were him i’d be so angry.

Yet he keeps his cool and always says the right thing. But it has to bother him with all the incompetence around him while he competes on a high level.
Imo losing Cespedes was a back breaker. He competes on an elite level also. He really has had a huge impact on the lineup, and everyone.
Bet Jake has had that effect on Matz and Wheeler this year. I said a couple of years ago I thought Jake was the true class of our staff.

Ricco said last night that he's not looking for a complete rebuild, will prolly keep Jake and Thor, and thinks a few players could turn the team around.
I'm hoping that somehow Ces gets right and we can get a couple of healthy years out of him yet. I was a big fan before he got here, '15 was a great ride.

deGrom 8 IP, 0 runs, 5 hits, 1 walk, 7 Ks. No decision.

ERA drops to 1.68. W-L record is 5-4.

You can't make this shit up.

Nimmo wins it with a walk-off three-run HR in the 10th, two innings too late for deGrom.

Why is Reyes in the lineup and not Rosario? He's 6 for his last 13. Let him get into a groove. Makes no sense. UGH!

I don't really follow the money side and player option side of this but hopefully it's not about that. And hopefully it isn't about that with most of the players when it comes to moving them and bringing a few young guys up.
But it wouldn't surprise me if the fact that the Coupons are paying him they don't want to let him go and pay him him nothing.

This team will look different soon and hopefully we get a broader picture of what's ahead. Watching Jose the rest of the year would be ridiculous.

Every day I become less and less impressed with Callaway. Interesting when your managerial career peaks 12 games into it.

Mets down 3-2 with one out in the top of the 6th and a man on first with Harper coming up. Callaway brings in Blevins, against whom lefthanded batters have an OPS of .915. Two pitches later the Mets are down 5-2.

Callaway is supposed to be an analytics guy? What a joke. What he is, is a moron.

Cabrera is gonna be a nice pick up for somebody. Hope he makes it to the post season. One of the very few bright spots on this fucking team. He's a pro.

Maybe they can pawn Blevins off on somebody looking for lefty specialist? Hope so, I'm sick of him.

Cabrera is gonna be a great pick up for somebody.

I'd like to see Seattle get him in lieu of Cano. If they deem he's needed of course. I've taken up following them. Dave Sims, from back in the day in NY, does the TV call and he's really good.

Syndergaard does fine in five innings in his first game back and gets the win. It hardly seems fair that he gets four runs of support and decent relief pitching while deGrom gets screwed in start after start, but still nice to see.
