Great game yesterday. Was Great to see contributions from Rosario and Adrian Gonzalez with a nice RBI Double.

METS UNDEFEATED! YEAH!! GOING ALL THE WAY!! Just a hundred + more games to go LOL! Sorry this will be the one time of the year I can say this, so I have to get it out of my system before the plummet. I have to say I really like Nimmo leading off.

Another good game - on pace for 162-0!

Now the fun begins with the back of the rotation.

Minor bits of trivia: Cabrera is the first player since 1915 to bat cleanup on opening day and then bat leadoff the next game. Familia got his 107th save, tying him with Jesse Orosco for 4th place alltime for the Mets. Of course he gave up a baserunner, so let's not go overboard with him.

Not so trivial: Swarzak had to leave with a sore left oblique. No MRI is planned yet, but obliques can often turn into months-long injuries. Matz starts tomorrow, which of course mean literally anything.

Matz is certainly not deGrom or Thor. Have to wonder if he's ever going to be the pitcher he once was.

I'm over the Matz experiment. The dude is nothing more than a 4 or 5 at best. He isn't an ace. I would be shocked if even had over 130 IP.

Imagine going to tonights game? No way they play in the snow.

Scoreless outing from Matt. Good job.

The only Mets pitcher I've ever hated as much as Familia was Armando Benitez, for the exact same reasons. Lots of talent, big persona, yet you knew that he'd always make you want to lose your lunch when he took the mound, especially in pressure situations. Yet another example tonight.

Great performances by Harvey and Lugo, by the way.

Matt looked good! Last year Collins Would have brought him out for the 6th and the wheels woul have fallen off. Good job yanking him and letting him build up the confidence.

Agreed! Familia almost always gets runners in scoring position and then bails himself out. He's not a lights out type of pitcher. He's always one swing away from a blown save. Lugo looked sharp yesterday, it almost made me wish he was the closer. It's nice to finally see Lugo in the role he was supposed to be in. Hopefully those starting pitchers can stay healthy this year.

Nimms reaches safely yet again. It's real. The kid is on base every time Ces gets up. 4 solid OF's plus Lagares late off the bench.

Pathetic throw by Reyes on the runner trying to score and the Nats go ahead 2-1.

Bruce with the grand salami to make it 8-2! Cespedes and Conforto with two-run dingers as well. Nats incredibly unhappy with called strikes they haven't gotten to both Conforto and Bruce, as well as strikes deGrom did get when he got out of a bases loaded none out jam.

Three more shutout innings for the bullpen. Can't complain about the start Mickey Callaway is having (tied for the best managerial start in team history with Joe Torre and Davey Johnson).

That was a great win on Thursday. deGrom getting out of that bases loaded jam was a beautiful thing as well. I really hope we can take at least 1 of these next 2 vs the Nats.

Side note - Why on Earth did we play Thursday early, followed by off Friday night? I don't think I ever remember having a 3 game series start on a Thursday with the next day off.

The umpire with one of the most ridiculous ejections i’ve seen. Rendon Did nothing to deserve to be thrown out.

Good outing by Matz. They were running on him though.

Best win of the season so far. Rally in the 7th, pitch out of runner in scoring position in 8th with the middle of the lineup, great defensive play in the first.

And all of this after an extremely unremarkable spring training.
