It's amazing that this thread is going on what, day 4, and there are still folks that believe he was fat and out of shape at Temple's pro day. Please, do your homework. Research a bit on the topic at hand.
This story got written because the Jets were BO-RING in free agency and Mehta couldn't pick apart their new acquisitions so he went after some of the players they already have instead. If you really want to read crappy stuff about the Jets over and over again just follow Mehta. That's his niche.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was actually fans trolling Mehta? I bet Jets fans were trying to get him fired. He took the bait like an idiot. So apparently Mehta's primary source is what random people send him on twitter with no actual investigating. Wilks probably was out of shape last season. It's not easy to stay in perfect shape when you are coming off an injury like that and have to dedicate so much time to rehab. He looks much more trim these days. I expect a bounce back season from him. Manish is the one who looks like he's gained weight. Look at his chubby neck these days.
Sadly, a lot of journalists have forgotten they are meant to report on actual events and instead try to manufacture stories. In an age where clicks are king, this is inevitable I guess, but it sucks.
Exactly. It's brutal. I stopped watching, and reading, just about everything like four years ago. Watch the games, and the pressers and interviews, that's all you really need. There are some pro's out there with good insight to glean stuff from, but it's tough to find them or sort thru all the the bullshit to get to them.

Notice when Rex went to Buffalo, Manish also appeared in Buffalo? He's a sensationalist, he has no substance, and he will no longer be covering sports in the NY area shortly. With Rex leaving, so did his career.

there is a reason he is the best all time and why he played until he was 40. but players like rice and martin are mostly long gone. I'd assume payton maning was another one as well.
They ARE long gone....now we have pampered golden boyz going on yacht parties a week before a playoff game.
