Last year it was all the talk about Eddie Lacey and hove he was doing P90X, there was even a picture of him taken before the season where he's got abs and is all trim. Mehta's first year with the Jets he put out really good quality articles. Then it took a massive nose dive into the toilet. Reading these message boards would put anyone into a self identity crisis.

Regardless of Wilk's weight, this is the THIRD major contract that the new GM has SCREWED UP in a little over 2 years. Revis, Fitzpatrick and Wilkerson all signed major jets contracts and then sucked big time. Wilk rewarded the jets $86M deal by missing meeting, blaming staff for improper rehab, and now being the subject of weight rumors. I want a GM who can EVALUATE TALENT--throw in Daren Lee, Devin Smith, and Hackenberg being drafted high, and you can see why Mac should be as nervous as his incompetent moron of a coach Todd Bowles. What's next, Mac? An extension for Dexter McDougle?
People forget that professions like athletes and actors can gain and drop weight very fast. they dedicate themselves to dropping weight for their jobs but in off times most are known to gain some back. as long as they are ready for the season, who really cares. plus wilk, like most d-lineman always had a belly.

Wilkerson will be just fine this season. He was coming off a major injury. It does not surprise me that he had a down season and I don't blame him for calling out our trainers. He definitely was not ready and there really wasn't any reason to rush him with Leonard Williams and Sheldon Richardson on the roster (despite Richardson's suspension). The guy is an all-pro who's been consistently one of the best in the league against the run and one of the few players at his position capable of 10 sack seasons. He'll be fine and I seriously doubt he'll be out of shape come the regular season. What we really need to be talking about is how we're gonna get something back for Richardson before we have to let him walk next season. Without the issues, he's worth a high end first rounder. With the issues? I hope we can get a third and would be ecstatic if we got a late second. A first ain't happening anymore.
This is a nice attempt at a recovery but it didn't work out. Mo had a bad year last year no one is denying that. What you said is two factually incorrect things.
You are insulting all hacks by including Mehta in that group. The Jets need to talk to the Daily News staff about how they are covered.
