Leading up to the draft, I have been scanning lot of the mock drafts and prospect rankings and there is a possibility that Mark Andrews could slide to the 3rd round. He is a really solid pass catching TE, I'm thinking like a Celek type of pass catcher, probably not as good as Ertz. With that being said, if we take Baker at 3...would you guys be happy getting him his favorite target in the 3rd round to help transition?

I can almost promise you tight end is not as big a priority to the front office as we think it is.

Your idea is fine, if the Jets didn't need some other things way more than TE. A pass rusher, OL - LT ideally - LB, and even a stud RB if he was BPA over the other needs mentioned - I'm thinking Penny specifically.

I seriously doubt they find a good LT with their 3rd round pick, and even a good pass rusher will be hard to get there too, but those are the greatest needs behind QB at this point.

If the front office doesn't think TE is a need they are sorely mistaken

We need so much help to protect any QB we draft. Starting with a center. But I'd rather take an edge rusher if we can find one for the 2nd pick. Then pick up front line help, BPA will be OK. Work on the secondary next along with a return man with speed and vision.

If a good Olineman is there, we need one badly.....but not sure who will be there at that point. Hope Billy Price falls. I have a sneaky suspicion that Arden Key is going to drop pretty far.

We just made it rain for a starting cb have Claiborne coming back and used 4 picks last year on dbs, how much work do we need in the secondary?

    Hows Andrews blocking?

I'm probably taking the best offensive lineman on the board with our pick at 3. Jamarco Jones maybe? From Ohio State

Would love to see us trade back up into the 2nd round though we don't have much left in terms of resources. But would love to get Da'Shawn Hand. Probably a pipe dream....

Andrews blocking is nearly nonexistent. He's also a bit stiff athletically, but very productive regardless.

If the expected /unexpected happens and we end up drafting Rosen then shoring up the OL is paramount or you have wasted the QB pick entirely and the kid ends up on the sidelines

TE is actually very important in the offense Bates has run in the past. You needs versatile TEs with both blocking and receiving skills. He runs 2 TE sets often.

Didn't they pick up a TE or 2 in FA?? I think they did but the names escape me..if you use that argument just like at RB ...then those positions don't become such as necessity ...let's see what Mac does in the later rounds and what value he finds there
I think my brain still can't get past rnd 1 till THAT pick is in ahah

Yeah no doubt. I agree that OL is very important for us. Just saying TE is up there too, despite our signings. I feel more comfortable with our RBs.

You mean he labeled himself lazy after his freshman season and then stepped it up. Background info is key.

He can keep dropping as far as I'm concerned. I want no part of him for the Jets.

In the 3rd round, I think Key is worth the risk because he has the potential to be the best pass rusher in this draft. If the Jets draft him, hopefully Adams can help him keep his head on straight since Adams was the defensive leader when they were both at LSU.
