1. Browns pass up QB, take Saquon Barkley. Because Browns. 2. 49ers take Darnold. One down. 3. Giants take Rosen. Because of course they do. Fuck the Giants. 4-5. Who cares. 6. Chargers take Josh Allen. Some teams (see Giants) take a QB even when they have one. 7-8. Who cares. 9. With the 9th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Bradley Chubb, Defensive Fucking End from I don't care where. Fuck the Jets and Chubby Chubb. 10-16. Who cares. 17. Jaguars take Mason Randolph. Quarterback #4! 18-20. Who cares. 21. Dolphins take Lamar Jackson. Quarterback #5! 22-27. Who cares. 28. Saints take Baker Mayfield. Quarterback #6! 29-32. Who cares. Link if you care to read it: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2741286-2018-nfl-mock-draft-matt-millers-midseason-projections I can't blame this shitpiece on Miller though. Because he's right. This is how it will go. It's fate. Edit: 49ers traded for Garoppolo. So I just reverse jinxed the Jets. You're welcome.
mock is bad, but I absolutely see a scenario where the Jets trade with the Browns and grab the top pick.
bradley chubb is really good. we have no pass rush and he would really help push this defense over the edge this QB isn't as good as people initially thought, so i wouldn't force a QB just for the sake of getting one
washington technically can tag him but it would cost them 34.5m against the cap, so no one is counting on that happening
Wouldn't shock me if Cousins walks away from Washington feeling like Redskins won't ever be able to win. Jets need to be very aggressive with their approach to getting a QB. Cannot continue to get old journeymen QB's to play every season.
To jump from 9 to 2, it would probably take 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, 2018 4th, 2019 1st, 2019 2nd. They better be right on who they take or else we're in the shitbox for at least another 4 years.
I bet they select a QB later on in the draft. I'm just happy because the Niners realized that another average vet was not the answer, accepted their losses and cut him. Lynch and Shannahan already proving themselves to be a better combo than Mac and Bowles.
Is Chubb going to play OLB? Because the last I checked the jets play a 3-4, and the strength of the pass rush in a 3-4 comes from the LB, not the linemen. Honestly no matter how good he is I bet Rodgers will probably misuse him and there will be a thread about how he was not as great as we thought.
If he walks away from Washington with that feeling, what in the world would ever make him think that the Jets could win, regardless of how aggressively they pursue him?
Redskins offense isn't that great - specifically their WR's. I happen to think Kearse and Anderson are nice pieces. I also think that Jets may look to re-sign Enunwa, and assuming we bring back ASJ that's not a bad group. Stewart and Hansen are unknown but Stewart in his limited time has shown he can make some outstanding catches. He also may just want to leave Washington because of their approach in handling him contract wise thus far. Also, I think its interesting to see what the Vikings do with Bridgewater and Bradford. If they move on from Bridgewater and he's healthy and cleared by doctors Jets should look into him. I just don't think they're going to do that because I think Bradford is done.
I can understand why Cousins would want to leave Washington, but can't understand why he'd want to go to the Jets aside from the $s. I don't think our offense is much better than the Redskins', and I certainly don't think the coaching is any better here than there.
That's a fair point. There's nothing aside from the money and the NYC market that's appealing for Cousins. But that can change if Chris Johnson is proactive and gets rid of Bowles. That would help a ton IMO
