Ok. Martin's a little older. But the guy is a work horse and if he's healthy the guy will perform. And that's all.....

I actually think Mangini brought him back to compete with Cedric Houston in Training camp and for leadership. I doubt we see Martin run for more than 1200 yards this upcoming season.

Dinobot you are forgetting that in 2002 we had one of the more dominating run blocking fronts in the NFL...Becht was key because he was like having a sixth Olineman...

I think Martin will win the job, but will wind up losing the job to Cedric around Mid-season.

I doubt we go after a RB in the draft as well.

if the abe and a 3rd for the lions #9 pick goes thru, we better trade down from the 4th and somehow take deangelo williams.. he is going to be the next ladanian tomlinson and can totally dominate for us..

If we got the 9th pick we wouldn't need to trade down from 4...we could take Williams at 9, but that wouldn't happen anyway.

We already have RB's on the roster for 2006...

yeah but i also want vernon davis, those 2 GAME BREAKERS would be awesome in order to rejuvenate our rebuilding young offense.. if we get that pick from the lions, i want us to draft vernon davis at #9, deangelo williams at #10, then grab nick mangold with our #36.. in the free agency we should pick up kevin shaffer OT from the falcons.. and we still have another 2nd rounder and the rest of our picks..

our offense would look like this

    QB- pennington, FA veteran
    RB- williams- gamebreaker
    FB- askew
    WR- coles
    WR- mccareins/cotchery
    TE- davis- gamebreaker
    LT- jones
    LG- kendall
    C- mangold
    RG- moore
    RT- shaffer

this would be a sick off season for us.. please make it happen FO..

    Curtis is my favorite Martin.

    He will succeed in 2006.

Too bad Martin won't see huge holes to run through like that anymore

The loss of Mawae leading him downfield is probably going to hurt, but there is no reason to believe that he can't run for 1000 again this season. Not too bad for an "old man."

He sure can run for another 100yd season, but I think the Jets should draft another RB, maybe in the second round. Martin will compete for this year, but you have to think about the years after 2006. Because of that we need a young RB, because I don't think Houston could carry the Offense
