If we can steal this kid for anything higher than a 3rd I'd say make the deal... It improves one of the biggest positions of need, on the cheap, that you'd otherwise be spending tons of $ on in FA.

Would trade our 2nd round pick from the Seahawks in a heartbeat. We need a corner badly, and this guy is Top 5 in the league. We will have him under contract for 1 year (2 if we pick up his 2019 option) for like 1-2 million per year. This dude is as beast and makes our secondary Top 10 in the league instantly. We can slide Claiborne over to cover the #2 guy. This dude is a monster and is a proven entity in the league. Why waste a draft pick on a maybe when you can get a proven talent like him?

Why do the Chiefs want to trade this beast?

We would have his services for 2 years before having to give him a new deal. Take him.

probably bc he's a little nutty on the field, which may mean he's causing headaches off the field.

You don't trade talent like that for no reason

With the talent that he has, I will take the chance. I think we have the right guys in our locker room to get him on track.

This. If we don't "need" the pick for drafting a QB-purposes, I'd be willing to part ways with the Seattle pick.

Who? We have a lot of young players on the roster. Who are the vets that are going to keep him in line? The opposite could also happen. His attitude could rub off on other young Jets, and the culture could get ruined before it gets established. IMO it's not worth the risk. Besides, we've already had a star CB that demanded to get paid and seen the problems that caused, we don't need another. While very talented, we don't need a head case, and I don't think that Mac or Bowles would even think about trading for him.

Adams although young is a leader and has his head on straight. Kearse, Davis, Williams.

Haha this made me laugh. It is true though we don't really know. I think his talent is worth the risk. Can always let him walk in a year. With Mac's drafting record in the 2nd round, will who we get be able to come in and contribute? Doubt it.

Imagine the practices with Peters covering Robbie. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that.

I wouldn't. I'd rather draft a guy in this instance.

Adams is a leader, but he has one season of experience in the NFL. Peters has 3 seasons' experience. HE is the veteran presence, NOT Adams. For players to have that kind of clout that they can keep players in line, I think that most of the time they have to be older with at least 5-7 years of experience, and often experience with that team and be revered and respected by players on that team. There also often has to be more than one of those types, and a clearly established culture. That is not the case with the Jets, and our HC is too slack/lackadaisical to either exert that kind of influence and isn't the disciplinarian type to make him stay in line.

We have no idea what Bowles is like behind closed doors. Just because he is lax with the media does not mean he is lax in the locker room. There is nothing to suggest Bowles locker rooms fall out of line in that regard. In fact, he seemed to keep everyone well in line last year.

We don't have the greatest track record drafting corners.
