As long as those surgeries haven't been on his legs or feet he'll be alright.

I don't undestand that way of thinking.

He's a great player a football team should want to add as many great players as they can whenever they can because great football players don't become available often.

The Jets have $100 million to spend spend it on a player that is in the top five at his position.

Just because we're not "one player away" that means they should break the bank on a borderline bust like Jadeveon Clowney or second rate pass rusher like Ziggy Ansah instead?

Bell will be in high demand in free agency I hope he comes here the Jets should want him unfortunately I have little faith in this front office to reel in the big fish/crown jewel of the 2019 free agent class even with $100 million in cap space.

    Actually, I do.
Why do you think RBs salaries are what they are? Because it's a position with a short shelf life, and the production is easy to replace.
If you don't think having a great o line and great receivers contributes to Bells success, your clueless.
I seem to remember you claiming that with Barkley this season, the Giants would have The best, most explosive, most balanced offense since the Greatest Show on Turf.
And something about the Eagles - Giants games being epic.

He was 2nd in all purpose yards which is right where James Conner is now, Conner is also on track to eclipse Bell's yardage from last year, has already surpassed Bell's total TDs and has a higher yards per carry. All that from a late 3rd round pick. Shows what having a top 3 O line does for you.

We need weapons for our young QB. Bell is the type of guy who can handle 350-400 touches a season and make plays, he'd be a valuable asset for Sam. We have so much money we can sign Bell, a pass rusher, an O-Lineman or two and still have money left over.

the relationship is fractured and they found a good loophole on the tag rules so he didn't need to report and he was worried that when he came back he could get hurt or the steelers run him into the ground 40 times a games. he lsot a lot of money this season but he'll get paid a big long term deal next offseason anyway and be coming in with fresh legs. if he signs and gets injured and is out for a year it could have cost him way more then he lost by sitting out

it makes sense. he gave up 15 mil sure, but what if he blew out his knee and ended his career. he'd never make a dime. the contract he signs next offseason will guarantee him at least 4 times that amount so if he comes bacl and blows out a knee he'll be at minimum 45 million richer. I understand these players wanting security. they lay their body on the line every play and any play could be their last and not just last in the NFL but last for quality of life with the neck and head injuries we see. they want the security of knowing if they did get hurt, they would still be paid and taken care of medically.

I will be very surprised if anyone offers him a contract that guarantees him $60 million. Gurley only got $45 million guaranteed, and he's 2 1/2 years younger, has a higher yards per rush average, higher yards per reception average, higher touchdowns per game average, hasn't needed surgery to repair his MCL and PCL, and isn't hated by his teammates. Bell was also offered a long-term contract last summer by the Steelers, so he left more than $15 million on the table.

fair enough but price goes up every year and he'll want more. that's how free agency works and bell was never hated until he held out. business is business. 50 mil guaranteed is much better then 15 mil guarenteed. gurley also averages 14+mil a year. bell will likely get 15 mil a year and 50 mil guaranteed

The Jets may want him but they're gonna face a lotta competition for him on the open market.

In the words of the great philosophers Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, you can't always get what you want. Maybe he'll end up happy, maybe he won't. And once again, he didn't leave $15 million on the table, he left at least $30 million and quite possibly more, since he was offered a long-term contract by the Steelers.

Anyone who pays $15 million for an insurance policy against tearing up his knee clearly doesn't understand how to price insurance, especially since he could buy a policy protecting him for future earnings against injury for a hell of a lot less money than that.
