Wifey had it done...the rough one too (PRK I believe) because she was actually "Legally Blind" and had astigmatism. It was done by Dello Russo himself. She got to 20/20. Fukin amazing. Yes, she sometimes wears readers now but after years of 40 lb frames on your fukin head, you ain't gonna bitch about it...lol
Well Boyz, I'm baack (kinda) Everything went fine. It was a bit unnerving to smell your eyeball cooking but that didn't last very long. Not able to drive a night yet as I still get the "halo" around light sources. The entire eye drop regime is a bit of a PITA but in the long run, I think I'm better off today than I was yesterday. Eyesight is noticeably better. I was able to watch my TV and it looked almost as if I had my glasses on. For the next several weeks, I'll be on the eyedrop/eye vitamin/minimal UV protocol. Again, yesterday right after the surgery was the toughest as the eyes were sore but I couldn't rub them. Still can't for quite some time. Thanks again for all your support fellahs! You guys are the best! Cman
PRK are for those who just dont have enough cornea to do the traditional lasik. So they insert a contact lens and then do lasik. I believe most athletes in contact sports with bad vision end up doing PRK, only because a ferocious smack in the face with someone who has lasik could move the flap that still takes some time to heal completely (like all the nerves reattaching itself - about 2 years)
Keep putting those eyedrops (anti-inflam and the healing one) You will probably use a bit of the Anti-inflammatory one. I think its called Predesilone. The halos will stick around for a bit and man you gonna feel great soon. Keep going for those regular check ins!
DON'T RUB YOUR EYE!!!! The Itch (heal) is gonna be brutal jic they didn't tell you. Keep the drops in the fridge, the cooling helps when you put them in.....enjoy your new look on life
FYI Lasik really gets around! For example Cmans surgery, Lasix medicine to piss out, Lasix at Vegas and hope the Jets cover. ....and of course when you get the flu you lasik Congrats Cman ! Can you see us winning??? Ahahahah
Taking a lot of getting used to Zace. Not having to wear glasses anymore is quite a change. Every now and then, I try to adjust my glasses and then I remember I'm not wearing any!
Ha, now youll see some women you thought were hot and realize they arent as hot as you thought Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Hope it all went well Cman. I really want to get this done because my eyes are atrocious. Not sure what I am out of 20/20 but I currently have -5.25 in both eyes and can't see anything without my contacts in.
They've gotten the proceedure pretty much down pat now so if you got insurance coverage, I would at least look into it. Its quite a transition from glasses to none though. Driving is the next challenge as I haven't driven at night yet and I'm not real comfortable with my depth perception.
