Former Jets LaDanian Tomlinson and Jason Taylor have been elected to the NFL Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately Kevin Mawae, Alan Faneca, and Ty Law have been passed up in favor of a damned kicker.

Mawae should definitely make it. Faneca is kinda borderline and I just don't know about Ty Law.

Anderson was a great kicker though. Gotta give him his due.

Klecko, Gastineau, and Mawae should all be in.

The Jets are seriously underrepresented in the HOF.

I do think that they made a good choice in letting Kenny Easley in. If the doctors knew what they were doing he would have played longer.

Exactly fuck Jerry Jones, Kevin Mawae is arguably the greatest center ever, Joe Klecko made the Pro Bowl at 3 different positions, but unfortunately for them they have Jets on their resume...

Faneca is borderline? He's tied for 5th all time with the most First Team All-Pro selections. He might be the best guard of the 2000s decade.

Mawae should have made the Hall of Fame. He really was a game-changing center for the Jets and he did do things nobody else could, like pull to lead off tackle and sweep plays. He was a big part of the heavy draw game the Jets played also because he could sell a draw like nobody who has played the position for the Jets before or since.

Like Klecko the fact that he was a really unique player at a very high talent level didn't beat out the fact that he never got to a Super Bowl. One win and both of them are in. Hopefully Klecko will get elected by the veterans committee at some point and Mawae will make it next year.

The absence of those two guys in the Hall of Fame doesn't diminish them, it diminishes the Hall of Fame and all the guys who made it and played against them will tell you that in so many words.

I doubt Gastineau will ever make the HOF. The same goes for TO. Both were great players, but both were jerks and asses, and even their own teammates couldn't stand them. Who would vote for them?

It's a crime that Klecko wasn't a first-ballot electee. I think there's a Jet bias, but he also hurt himself with going to prison. Sadly, that might keep him out of the HOF.

t.o. will and should get in. its the football h.o.f. not the good guy hall of fame. gastineau is hurt by crossing the picket line and i'm guessing the way he left. has nothing to do with them being jerks

    I am not understanding...

I thought Hall of Fame was based on performance .....barring gambling like Pete Rose or a major Felony

Most of the NFL are pre prison or ex abusers , drug guys

    Who are they kidding???

"Most" of the NFL are pre-prison? Seriously? Use hyperbole much? I don't even think that most of them are drug guys. If I thought or felt that way, there's no way I'd ever waste another minute of my life on this site or watching games.

    LOL...AHAHA

Well a bit of an exaggeration:rolleyes::p

But compare the character of players 45 years ago and today....no matter how Goodell and NFL want to spin it...hmmm lets make Josh Norman and his baseball bat our Poster Boy hehe TIMES HAVE CHANGED NC

Ok ...lets make it 25 to 30 per cent are potential Josh browns or Sheldon Richardsons

Fortunately many take meds like B Marshall

Its OK NC you can post on TGG and watch plenty of games, its cool ...just ignore the A Hernandezs and carry on watching....I DO but ignorance is bliss

    LOL

I agree that the character is less than it was 45 years ago, but then it is in society in general. Think Trump would have even been the nominee, much less won the Presidency 45 years ago?

    Good point

Society has degenerated to "me first...boundaries, respect, second"

Too many single parent families who raise kids like pets or farm animals imo or try to make kids "their friends" and have zero parenting skills

it was a different America 45 years ago ...the economy was better, entry level jobs higher pay (except for teachers), cost of living lower, no outsourcing of jobs and US companies leaving the country

So no a businessman like DT wouldn't stand a chance against the political machimes
