Yep... Got my tickets for a PM Matinee tomorrow at 3pm. Already got the best seats in the house too. Gonna make a date out of it with wifey. HR Block, then Kong, then Red Lobster... Strange I know but hey, when you've been married as long as I have, its the little things that matter!
I have been busy lately. I still need to see Get Out, Logan, and Kong. Hopefully I get to them this or next week!
He's rapidly approaching Will Smith territory. All of his parts seem to require the same persona. Doesn't matter if he's Nick Fury or Gibbons or even the Jedi. Its always Sam Jackson's personality under a different name. That isn't acting and its no wonder SLJ hasn't won any awards yet..Except maybe for being the only Angry Black Man in America not currently incarcerated.
Samuel Jackson has been doing that same typecast shit for at least the last decade. He is so played out, but he's the busiest man in showbiz between commercials and movies. I still enjoy him on screen even though I don't watch a lot of his films. The guy cashed in on his fame in a big $$$ way.
I'm happy for the guy and the fact that he's getting paid for playing the same character, similar to what Keanu Reeves does. It's just tiring, like hearing Shia Lebouf screaming in transformers, he yelled more than the women did. As far as King Kong, can't they just call in the location for an Artillery Strike or drone attack?
Another Kong movie. It was ok. Lots of action. Lots of CGI monsters too. SLJ of course played himself. Hiddleston stole the movie IMO. Just a decent remake of a really old storyline. Good entertainment.

I had fun seeing it. Usually not the kind of movie I like, but it was entertaining. No real backstory for any character besides John C Reilly, but that was the point I guess. It's all about the King: KONG. The CGI was great. I enjoyed the monster battles. The post-credits scene was really cool too and sets up future movies (like Marvel does). Haha yeah, he was great. He always is.
