Same with a few other teams since the league no longer allows the use of different helmets. The Titan uni with white helmet would look odd.
well you can call me Ray, or you can call me J, or you can call me Johnny, or you can call me Sonny Werblin...... "Jets" as in heralding in the 'jet age.' . . Modern fighter jets? ......F-35's?.....exactly what is escaping you? And, the Boston Celtics??...
I say go completely opposite - red and black. Green and white hasn't worked so well for half a century.
If you look at the present Boston Celtic uniform you will see what I mean. As to modern jets, I was thinking more in the line of a luxury jet. However a military jet would be great if you could get Uncle Sam's approval.
How do you explain the different color scheme on the helmet on Thursday night when the logo was a lighter metallic green instead of the normal dark green? Just a sticker maybe or a whole helmet wrap which could be used to alter any design?
Yup, just stickers and decals and sometimes different facemasks. With all the concussion issues the league wants the players to continually use the helmets they were alreadly fitted for and have been using. Teams lke Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Chicago can just remove/alter stickers and match well with their alternates; Jets white helmets don't jive with Titan throwbacks, Pats silver helmets don't match well with the red throwbacks, so it's unlikely we will see those again.
I've often wondered about using a full wrap with throwback uniforms. we already see them used in college. I fear the possibilities it opens up but would allow for teams like the Jets to wear different color helmets for a game. Thursday football should be throw back Thursday. not color rush. With the helmet wrap to assist they could have taken the field last week in full Sack Exchange Uni's.
this policy is literally the dumbest thing i have ever heard of. those helmets really need to be refitted 4 or 5 times a season. they are air bladders that will change through the year. my 10 year old gets air added or removed from his helmet that many times. if they were smart they would make them tighten the chin straps. but for whatever reason the nfl is hte only league that thinks using the same helmet makes any kind of difference. its literally idiotic.
