Well, you're getting closer now. If you saw his post game press conference a week ago you'd see he made it very clear what he's protesting - which is that "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is not distributed evenly in the United States. That some people, because of where they live, how they dress, how they talk and what color their skin is do not have the same opportunity to even the "life" part of that proclamation. That while most law enforcement personnel do the best job they can with the challenges they face, there are some who do not and innocent people are often victims of those rogue, or even just poorly trained and supervised forces. That is what Kaepernick is protesting, that is what he hates - not a song, not a flag. Certainly not a country that gives us all the right to demonstrate how we feel.
Did he give one example? Did he in any way further the discussion on racial inequality that has already been going on nationally? What exactly has he added to the conversation? Be specific. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ESPN carried the entire conversation. From what I remember it was about twenty minutes, I'm sure you can find the video somewhere. He expressed his thoughts on the situation; whether that resulted in furthering the discussion is not my call, but one should always listen before they speak. (As far as how specific I should be, that's my call, not yours, Buzzard.) Edited to add: If I had seen your "waiting" comment after seven minutes, I would have waited until at least tomorrow to respond.
I watched the interview. He was unable to cite one example of what he is supposedly "protesting". This, after one of the worst six month periods of racial unrest and a nearly continuous national discussion about excessive force by police officers. This "protester" is unable to cite one example. I could name five or six examples off the top of my head. Yet, this nitwit can't cite one example. Nor can he articulate exactly what he is supposedly calling attention to. He has added absolutely nothing to a cause that was already front and center in the national discussion. What an idiot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is total horseshit. He just wants attention, and everybody does have the same opportunity. He is free to leave and find a greener pasture, not that one exists.
Well, that's his opinion, which he is entitled to express. You, apparently disagree - I don't. Maybe because you, he and I all have had different life experiences and different exposure to different people and their experiences. All of us are then free to seek greener pastures or to work to make the ones we're in better. So be it.
