He was largely seen as a solid, pro-ready, high floor/low ceiling pick iirc. However some were trashing the pick by the end of last year as he made little impact. No surprises there I guess. As far as I'm concerned if you can get a good, solid starter type with a third round pick, even if he'll never be a pro bowler, then it's a good pick.

That is exactly what he was seen as. He never made the pure speed or burst type plays of his counter part at Georgia, Leonard Floyd, but while he lacked the high end potential he was seen as a much safer pick to have good NFL career. He is a wonderful Edge setter with limited pass rush ability despite his big week he's never going to be a feared outside guy. He has good power for the position but lacks that quick first step that makes edge players dominant.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but this is 2 games now that Jenks has flashed and looked like he has added a few more tools to his tool bag.

    Optimistic or factual?

I like Jordan Jenkins. I see a lot of Calvin Pace in him as a edge setter. Pace himself didn't break out as a pass rusher until his 5th season. As a 3rd year player I really like Jenkins. Although it's important we pair him alongside of an athletically gifted OLB with true outside pass rushing ability.

PS: On our first defensive drive that was a phantom/bogus roughing the Quarterback call against Jenkins. I thought it was a textbook hit of a QB nonetheless nice to see him flashing out there early on.

Saw the reply on that - actually thought it was a good call.

If he would have avoided lowering his helmet......... the new rule is going to cause many players to have to adjust.
