their blueprint was simple get a FQB and even then neither of them won without a good defense. we drafted sam and built a defense. we are following that blueprint, it all depends on if sam turns out to be the next top QB in the league or not

The Jets HAVE been following the Bears's blueprint - the one from 1986! You know where you have an all-time shut down defense and a mannequin for a QB but you still win the SB? Only problem is that the Jets have NEVER built that level of a defense, AND the NFL has turned how the game is played upside down since then - now it's OFFENSE that wins championships. The NFL sent out a letter explaining all of this, but the Jets apparently never received it. Maybe they never updated their address with the league office when they moved to the Meadowlands.

Successful teams don't follow a blueprint, they create their own.

^^There's no need to be like that, AlexJets.

Please direct me to top WR and TE talent available via NFL free agency. Also please explain how any of them help the Jets get better next year?

Look at the fucking Giants. They are a case study in no offensive line = no offense. Two of the best play,Akers in the NFL and they can’t do shit because Eli is getting sacked 7 times a game.

Look at the games the Jets won. They had good to great o-line play and scored a ton — the most I’ve seen in a long time.

The Jets HAVE to bolster the OL and Edge positions (preferably EDGE in FA).

I’m really thinking they will spend on LeVeon Bell now because there is fuck all available in FA.

Will be interesting to see what Trubisky does in the playoffs. His play has been very uneven since the middle of November (and of course he missed a couple of games in there as well).

True baby steps. No one expects the Jets to make that leap next year. But steady competitive progress is what you look for. Then just fine tune what you have. That is the blueprint for success.
