I think all he has to do is stay healthy and on the field. Looks like he went from 6 sacks one season to lost to injuries ever since.
Yeah, he has only appeared in 12 games over the last 2 seasons, starting only one. In fact, he hasn't played all 16 games in any season during his 4-year career (2014 - 11 games, 0 starts; 2015 - 15 games, 12 starts; 2016 - 8 games, 1 start; 2017 - 4 games, 0 starts). Hopefully, he is healthy, or will get that way quickly, and stay that way. We need him.
Thanks for posting this. It was good to see him getting sacks against elite competition in UGA, Clemson and FSU. Personally, I loved seeing him sack UNC and U Maryland QBs. Maryland has to have the ugliest unis ever!
Please oh please be there for us when we need you. For sure against NE, if nothing else. Smoke Brady out of the pocket and disrupt his timing. He might be a second or third and long option for us, who knows.
I remember when there was a lot of talk about taking this guy out of GT. We still got him sans the wasted draft pick. Let's see if he can stay healthy.
That is a seriously crappy glass panel. Anyway, clearly comes down to health with this guy. The list of people who magically recover from chronic multi-season injury is small, so I have no expectations, but realistically any reasonable possibility of generating a non-blitz pass rush has to be tried at this point.
WTF? Of course I know that. What's your point? The video posted of him is from college. Besides, it doesn't matter what conference they are in. Those were the teams they played and are in the video. Or is this some reference to DWC?
For sure don't want to start a new threat. But I have this burning nag and want to ask this question out of ignorance if nothing else. Thought this tread might be appropriate. I respect the many members here with first hand knowledge on the finer points on what makes for a good ILB versus an OLB. Strength, speed, cover skills, ability to match with the likes of a TE or lineman etc. I'm sure you guys can quickly point out why my question make no sense, but here it goes anyway. What is the harm to at least experiment during training camp and give Lee a chance to see if his natural skills can be better developed at OLB position? Is it so stupid that neither Bowles nor Casey would consider that. Seems we are desperately trying to find someone, yet Lee in the inside appears like a bit out of place. Again, forgive my lack of understanding in this area.
I don't think it's a dumb question at all, LA. With his speed, he makes more sense as an edge rusher in some ways. The problem is that just like at ILB, he is undersized. He's really not big enough to take on OGs or OTs. I also don't know how adept he might be at bending the corner in his rush or how many pass rush moves he knows. He also couldn't set the edge as an OLB. If anything, he'd probably have to be a situational pass rusher like Aaron Maybin was. The Jets are also counting on him to QB the D. I think that is usually done by an ILB/MLB, but don't know that the position makes any difference.
