Jets will draft no lower than 8th and no higher than 3rd (I don't know if 3rd is possible, I Haven't looked at the SOS but the Jets would have to lose next week and both the 3-12 teams would have to win so realistically the Jets will draft probably from pick 5-7.
Our worst draft pick can be 7th, as Bengals is on 5-9-1, till we 4-11, so their one draw means that they will have better ranking than us even if Jets gonna win and they loose.
Even if the Jets win next week, they will mostly likely stay at #6, San Diego is currently 5-10 at #7 with a .30 higher SOS difference. The Jets could possibly fall to #4 with Bears, Jags & Rams all winning and a Jet's loss...very unlikely. My best guess the Jets will stay at #6 or at best with a loss at #5 with a Jags win.
To make up a .30 difference after 16 weeks is almost impossible. So Jet fans can root for them to win without losing any ground at #6. A Jets loss and everyone losing ahead of them doesn't help them either. Jags win will help the Jets to move to # 5.
The only problem is everyone else will be trying to trade, back because of the lack of quality at the top of the draft
Follow that up with Steven Hills cousin WR who doesn't know what a playbook is, but can run a 4.3 40 time. A project pick.
Well, it is possible as the SOS depends on our 16 enemies' result in final round, but needs a miracle.
On paper it's ideal. We're talking Jets here. I'm sure i don't need to remind you about our drafting skills. So far MM and Co look like 0-2 on 2nd round picks.
Jason_OTC (overthecap guru) wrote below on his Twitter: Chargers with 5 wins are at a .545 SOS so they should not be able to pass any of the 4 win teams if they win next week.
Start Petty next year and by week 3 he'll be on IR. What a softie. Then put the Hack in and we'll be 2-14 if we're lucky. Maybe the 18' draft will bring our savior. I can see Jets drafing another OL in the 1st, ignoring edge rusher...again. Then drafting a Mauldin type in rd 3 or 4 and hoping he can be good. Jets mgm't don't get it. Or maybe a TE in the 1st such as Brady, Mitchell, Becht, and JETS wonder why they're bad. I'm all for OL, but why can't they draft OL in like the 3rd, 4th or 5th rounds, or maybe all of them.
Whatever future NFL star there is at a position of need will come off the board right before our pick (see Matt Ryan - Vernon Gholston draft).
Our Second Rd draft picks have sucked for many years. Hack is still incomplete, but we probably could have gotten him in Rd 3 so Mac did a lousy job in that respect. . Harris was the best one in recent memory. My Handle name might have been one of the best 39 years ago. BTW, look at history 2nd rd picks, at least 50 percent amount to squat.I do agree the Jets have been very bad drafting second rd picks.
I wish i knew who blasted me on draft day here when I was upset about using 2nd rd pick on Hack. Come out come out whereever you are? I know your gonna say he's a rookie and all. Yeah, yeah yeah. Give him time, etc. Unacceptable. We're going nowhwere this year and Mgm't won't play him. Clear indication of a project pick, not a round 2! MM is a guru scout!! Not buying it!! Time for new regime, AGAIN!!!!
Petty a softie??? Our O line sucks. he didn't have a chance. I referring to all NFL2nd Rd I was referring to the entire 2nd Rd of the NFL not just the Jets......it's less than 50% hits I already made clear the Jets have been terrible drafting in rd 2, not just Mac.
