I'll take the moneyline, the points and the under.

Even with the Pats losses, I still see this as a dark day for Jets fans. I want to be a sunshiner, but this one just looks ugly.

If I was a betting man I'd take the Pats giving 6.5 any day. Sorry. =(

I thought the spread might have been a point or two lower, but I don't think 6.5 is unreasonable, especially with questions about Thomas Jones. I know Moss is questionable, but the Jets need Jones more than the Pats need Moss.

Sounds about right. It's our side of a one touchdown loss, so it's not bad.

I was thinking it was gonna be 8 or 9 also... our schedule is so harsh this year... we are gonna be dogs in 6 of the first 7 games and 12 overall...

They'll probably lose by 20 or more so the spread is a gambling ploy to get people to take the Jets.

Not to someone that understands how betting works.

The 6.5 is to get PATS bettors to lay their money down.

I was hoping for a larger spread, like 16 1/2 points, so I could garuantee a Jets victory. But with an tiny spread like 6 1/2, it hardly seems worth it.

I can see it now Chad hanging pool side with hot babes all around with a glass of scotch on the rocks holding court with the beat reporters and guaranteeing victory. According to sources Chad not only guaranteed victory but according to Peter King this Chad Pennington quote was on the Pats message board in their locker room.

Technically, this means the spread is more like 9.5 on a neutral field. HFA always swings 3 points in favor of the home team on the spread.

Its a good thing we have them at home the first game of the year! And it also doesnt hurt that N.E. is a bit banged up!

This could be a great confience booster, 6.5 is a bit much!

Not that I think the Jets are gonna come out and blow the doors off New Fagland (a shot at the team, not the area) but the way the idiots on around the horn are just dismissing the Jets as a "Dog" and "New England winning the game that mattered 37-16" just pisses me off. Why is it that these idiots constantly slurp the sweat from Bellichicken and the bastard father?

That being said I think the Jets can win but my prediction would be if the Pats don't cover the 6.5 they will lose the game.
