He could be suggested to our new coach as an assist coach candidate down the line. But the Jets are not considering freaking Jim Caldwell come on already

I agree. That’s one of the many reasons I despise the existence of the Rooney rule

Well let’s start with the fact his college record isn’t abysmal. He took a program that was 0-12 before he got there to a bowl in his 3rd season. You’re the guy that thinks McCarthy is amazing bc of his record right?

    Interesting note on Kingsbury ...

Prominent quarterbacks that played under Kliff Kingsbury:

Monken's college record isn't abysmal. He inherited an 0-12 team and went 1-11, 3-9, and 9-5 in his three years there, making a bowl game in his last year. That got him the OC job with the Bucs.

The only QBs Kingsbury was HC for were Webb, Mahomes, and Mayfield. Webb and Mayfield didn't do much at TT and transferred out. Mahomes was good, but he got much better in the NFL. So if anything it looks like Kingsbury was holding Mahomes back.

I think that's overblown. I don't know about Keenum or Manziel, but Mahomes played 3 seasons, Webb 1 1/2 seasons, Mayfield played a half a season. I don't think Michael Brewer ever started. He was redshirted his freshman year (2011), was a backup his sophomore year (2012), and then injured his back prior to the 2013 season. By the time he returned Mayfield and Webb were firmly entrenched. He did appear in 4 games that season. He then transferred to VA Tech the following year.

You do realize that when a team goes 0-12 they have little talent, and recruiting is therefore difficult, don't you? It takes time to rebuild a program and win over recruits. I think it's pretty amazing that his team won 9 games his 3rd season.

    I do realize.

You could put 1 stud skill position recruit on that team and he could win you 9 games in Conference USA.

If you guys want to fall on the sword for a guy who head coached in Conference USA and left with a .342 win percentage please proceed.

I personally think the Jets can do better than Monken.
