Simple question here: Who do you want to take? Who do you think the Jets will take? I want us to take: Jamal Adams - think he has all the ability in the world, also has the mindset to be a leader on a team that sorely lacks them at this moment. Who do I think we take: Marshon Lattimore or Gareon Conley - One of the Ohio State corners are going to end up in our defensive backfield come next Thursday night. Praying if that is the case it is Conley, as I think Lattimore is the flashier one, but Conley is the better player.
Want: I want the pipe dream. The strat in the window I can't have. Myles Garrett Who do the Jets take: Hopefully the Johnny Mitchell/Kyle Brady flashbacks don't mean a thing as the Jets take OJ Howard.
I want them to get a player that can be solid for the next 5-6 years regardless of position - we got too many leaks on the SS NYJETS
Howard scares me. As someone said Kyle Brady and Johnny Mitchell flashbacks. Lattimore gives me flashbacks of Milliner. Adams is the best pick if he is there. Would love to trade back be able to pick up people like Peppers, King from Washington, Conley OSU and get more picks.
I hope the 12 and the 33 or the 11 and the 32 fall to the Jets in the draft. I'd even take the 12 and a 1st next year instead.
I wouldn't mind Howard bc it will give Hack or Petty a legit security blanket and give them an opportunity to show if they can play at this level.
I'd sign up for that right now. At 12 I'd go with one of the receivers and at 33 Peppers, Conley, King. I'd be really excited. The more draft picks we have this year the better we will be in 2018. Get experience and make a run with a qb in 2019-2020 and have prolonged success.
If they can obtain a first next year u have to give that serious consideration with one eye on the QB class of 2018. at 12 u take Howard without flinching, same thing at 11, run the dam card up there. if u are there at 32/33 - I would be inclined to go BPA at certain positions such as OL, OLB, and CB. I would also be inclined to trade UP only a few spots if someone like Charles harris is hanging around at 26/27.
I too want a trade down. Would love to get a #1 next year plus a #1 or #2 this year depending on who is trading. However, I don't believe we will pull off a trade so recognizing some form of reality I would go for Adams, Fournette, Howard and Foster in that order. No need to consider others as at least 2 of them will be available when we draft.
I'm so happy somebody finally decided to ask these questions!! A week before the draft and it takes a new member to ask who you want and who Jets will draft. Shame on you, TGG!
Walterfootball is reporting that the Jets and Browns have discussed this. Jets apparently want 12,33, and 108- giving them the first pick on day 2 and 3 http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftrumormill I thought Cleveland would try and hop over us given that we've been linked to Trubisky theoughout the process but i was wrong. Good call Br4d
i want: Fournette, would love to have an AP type back for the next decade. They'll pick: a safety, likely Adams, possibly Hooker.
My top 6 (since Jets are guaranteed a shot at minimum one of these): Myles Garrett Solomon Thomas Malik Hooker Jamal Adams OJ Howard Christian McCaffrey Trade down is better than any of the above. Two trade downs even better. Love Patrick Mahomes and think the Jets should somehow acquire him if they also love him as a prospect. Would not be sad about drafting Leonard Fournette though I think we can do better.
I would love that trade. I dont think it will happen but IF it did and by some miracle Howard dropped to 12, i think we could call it a win already. Or (like many have already mentioned) if we can drop to 12 and grab the browns 1st in 2018 too, id love it
If Fournette is there at 6, take him, otherwise, trade down with Cleveland for their 12 & 33 and next year's 1st rounder. Then take Mahomes, and if necessary, trade back into the 1st to get Harris. What the Jets will do: Take Lattimore, because they're the Jets.
Doing this trade (if we got 33 and 108) would be a huge get for Macc for the exact reason stated in the article, those picks are constantly valued highly due to players falling that were not expected to. Could give us the opportunity to stack up a few more picks, be that in the 3rd (if we trade 33) or in the fifth or next years 4th (if we trade 108).
