Not bad at all for Macc. We get a WR which in itself is a miracle AND 2 dp's. Nothing to bitch about on this..
I think this deal works because of Kony Ealy. He can provide pressure and get you 5 sacks. Richardson in a contract year may have gotten the Jets 8-10 sacks. So the Jets have gotten significant cap savings, a veteran WR that can contribute, a second round pick, and have maintained depth at DL and a pass rush with the addition of Ealy. I like Shel and would have liked to watch him play for the Jets this year, but he would have walked next year anyway. Decent trade by Mac.
Here's hoping that Sheldon wreaks havoc for Seattle this season, so the Jets can get the 2nd round pick rather than the 3rd, then reverts to form of his last couple of seasons.
It is a good trade,,,,I would have taken it for a 3rd rounder straight up throw in Kearse and I say bye bye Sheldon,,,,ps I feel bad for Kearse
If Anderson, Stewart and Hansen all develop, Kearse may be fighting for a spot on the roster next year. There may be another young WR or two in the fold or added via the draft that could take Kearse's spot.
An added benefit of getting Kearse.. As an undrafted player he has been to the Super Bowl and made game winning plays in the playoffs. Good for the young guys like Anderson, Enunwa, Stewart and Hanson to learn from him.
This is a ridiculous comment...it's a very good trade based on value. SR was and is a head case and I am glad he is gone... one slip away from another suspension.
Did you see the post I responded to? The poster said, "Kearse is OK until you see his salary". I was assuming he meant Kearse was overpaid or something. My answer was sarcastic, there are 69 receivers in the league higher paid than him.
Kearse is basically Martavis Bryant/Ted Ginn/Jeremy Kerley (from high to low) based on his averages for the last three years (577 yds, 43 catches). I would prefer that they get offensive linemen, but if you include the salary savings they can put to other players, hopefully offensive linemen) this is a pretty good deal. Ron
Personally, I have always liked Richardson more than Wilkerson, but it seems the Jets did not agree. So, considering they were going to let him walk anyway, they definitely got good value for him. Now, if this team could only make decent second round draft picks . . .
No. He is not. Hes a 3 or 4 in most offenses. Here if qunicy was healthy he is a 2 or 3. But its really the pick that matters.
