JUST SOME BEFORE SHOTS...LETS SEE HOW ALL THESE TREES HOLD UP
thanks sb....I agree but would I rather have a cat 3 storm that lasts 8 hours...or a cat 1 or 2 storm that lasts 36 hours....I would take the first one I THINK. Could be wrong. But thank you sir.
you might have to vacuum the pool when this is all done
There may be some truth to that..... well in terms of rainfall potential. At least the storm surge will be cut down. (What's your base elevation?)
be prepared to say adios to some of that vinyl siding. (and hopefully you have spome tarps / spare shingles handy)
looking for maps but cant find elevation. We are several miles from beach so ocean not a real problem...a mile from cape fear river...that, I doubt, will be an issue. Storm surge will not be an issue...2 feet of water will be. We got water halfway up driveway when that last 6 inch storm came through. Flooding will be problem. We are about 3 hours away from the rough stuff.
we were about to start landscaping backyard...happy we put that off to the fall.
although there is a fence behind pool...all of those trees are ours. It goes back another 50 feet....this puppy will cost some $ to clean up.
Bernie Rayno on the weather channel as I type,,,,,,,,
You should have it from the survey when you bought your house
Reading the rest, I hope you took some of the advice I posted earlier... the pics dont look like it
something I had forgotten about is that Jays area and much of the Carolinas is saturated from all of the rain they have gotten and it won't take much to take trees down,,,,,,,,,,be safe Jayster
I've been looking at the radar,,,,,Jays area and others are just getting pounded with rain. storm is crawling this is gonna do some serious damage to that coast
now Category 1 storm
watching the weather ch rite now,,,,,,the strongest winds are still off shore , storm is crawling
The WTC is reporting live from Wilmington,,,,,,they say top winds have hit 92 mph and that its getting pounded. I hope Jay and everyone there is hanging in it had to be a rough night. The eye or what is left of it is very close to his backyard.
can't share the video ugh
Yes, that's why Ive been harping on about the flooding.... hopefully everything works out.
I can see some trees coming down due to soft soil too
Guy on TV Broadcasting from Wilmington showed the Cape Fear River , he said that hours ago it was flowing North to South but showed it live just now and you literally see it flowing the opposite direction right now = its now South to North. I think Jay said he's a half Mile from Cape Fear River but not sure
I really hope those photos were pre-storm prep and he tried to waterproof his house the best he could....
No power for over 3 hours now
Listening to radio there was a tornado signature 2 towns over heading my way
One of the scariest moments of my adult like
