My issue is it seems to wiggle. No solid trend.

For those of you on the east of the US, checking in while on lunch or just waking up, GFS is putting Maria almost hitting NC at 928mbar 210 hours from now. Do not take this anywhere close to fact. Just keep in mind that if Jose dies the high pressure to the north will push Maria to the west for an East coast impact. I implore all of you to check in over the next few days. Might be a cat 3 or higher when it hit the Outer Banks. Just a heads up, not a forecast.

The high over the Atlantic is the key with respect to Maria. If it stays where it is, southeast of Bermuda, Maria wraps around it and heads out to sea. That's what the European model says. If it moves 500 or 600 miles to the west, southwest of Bermuda, Maria goes straight into the east coast around the Carolinas or Virginia. That's what the GFS says.

Either way, the Lesser Antilles and Puerto Rico look like they're going to get hit pretty hard. At this rate, by the time this season is over there may not be any northern Caribbean vacation spots left to visit.

Puerto Rico is in trouble. As far as the Euro vs GFS, it's been no contest with hurricanes. Remember Jay always talks trends. The trend is listen to the GFS this hurricane season

HO-SAAAAAY may be the savior of Queens once again though

'Fujiwhara effect" could be in play if it does another clockwise turn after just missing the NE

I used to like hurricane season

It'll be interesting to see what gets rebuilt and what is not. I guess Lloyd's will have as much to say about that as anybody else.
