Not to mention the 1 point losses because of missed Xtra points or great field position for the other team due to short ko's. Thanks Macc! You still fckn suck you stubborn bastard.
I'm actually on Mac's side on this one. Meyers was good, but inconsistent throughout his career and started to mess up down the stretch. He made some clutch kicks last year though. Not sure what he will make in Seattle, if it isn't too bad, then maybe the Jets messed up. Same with Andre Roberts. He was really good, but not sure how much he is worth. If they both walk like I read, the key will be who the Jets replace them with. Funny the Jets Special teams was finally good, and now they blow it up instantly. Okay, not that funny.
I wanted Dan Bailey a lot more heading into last year. Glad i was wrong. Myers was much better. Could be a tough loss for our special teams.
I'll be curious to see what Seattle is paying him and what he asked the Jets for. I'll make my judgment then.
His leg is worth the money for an indoors team. Seattle has trouble scoring lately so Meyers expands their scoring potential deeper down the field.
Missed 2 PAT's in week 15 and 1 FG in week 16. Can't have that. Seriously, the kicking game is one area we've excelled at lately. Let's see what kind of deal Myers gets in Seattle and who our new kicker is. At least I am.
Macc probably thought the guy zoned for a year, comes back down to earth in '19 and wasn't worth what Meyer wanted. .
Bring back Taylor Bertolet this Summer. I saw him kicking for Utah in the AAF, and his season has been kind meh (he was a last minute signing cause their original kicker had to be replaced). He did drill a 54 yarder one night, and he was pretty good before they brought in Meyers. Not saying he's the long term guy, but I would bring him back as a camp leg and see what happens. Dare I say, Folk has also looked decent in the AAF this season. He knows the territory. I'll miss what Myers brought this year, but 4/16 for one good year is reason to let him walk. If those numbers are right, that pays him around top 5 money.
Why? Catanzaro was hardly useless and in fact like Myers seemed to improve on his previous season with us.
They may well become a force, probably about time with all those top draft picks they have had for years now.
I'm not going to get too bent out of shape on this one..... I think he caught some lightning in a bottle last year. He was pretty bad the season before (the reception he got from the crowd in JAX last year was pretty rough) I do hope they keep Roberts though
