Posted in the wrong spot,,,,,my bad now its here,,ps I still think this guy could be worth a look and should not be expensive
so instead of getting released the Pats trade for him ( a 7th rd pick ) and he is now a Patriot,,,,,I really thought this guy was worth an inquiry and taking a flyer on,,,,,,time will tell
Actually funny and an indication of how the Patriot's off season is going. First Cleveland announces he has been cut and an hour later or so they trade him to the Patriots...big oops there Bill.
I think they swapped pics. Cleveland gets NEs 6th round pick, Pat's get Brown's 7th. Not much difference between the two picks.
Of course a Jet fan would see this as an oops, you have no point of reference as to what smart management is. First off it was in the Pats best interest to trade for him and not sign him as a FA, why you may ask, well first and most importantly is they get his contract which at total is just below 3 million for next season, if he was released out right, any team that signs him is going to have to negotiate a new contract, and for an average starting CB, which is what he is, that's about 6 mill a season. Also they didn't give up a 6, they gave up 8 spots in the draft by swapping their 6 for Cleveland's 7. So lets re-cap, the pats get their CB for half the market value and only give up 8 draft spots while eliminating any other team from the equation, and a guy like you thinks it's an oops? This is a minor move in the grand scheme of things but when you add them all together, it's a lot of why the Pats are among the best run organizations in the NFL and the Jets are, well the Jets.
Well shasta If you didn't start your message with below sentence you wouldn't get the reaction from Concorde. Of course a Jet fan would see this as an oops, you have no point of reference as to what smart management is
We've been through this before, but I'll say it again. The Pats are smarter than the Jets, but Pats fans are not smarter than Jets fans. And Pats fans who think they're smarter are the dumbest of all.
I agree with your analysis that Belichick took advantage of the riff between Jason McCourtey and the Browns. He gave up very little to get him, so even he doesn't work out no big loss. But if you tell me the Jimmy G trade was a good move by Bill, then I will have to call you out as a homer.
I know being a moderator can be challenging and that fact you allow people to almost say whatever they want is great. But you must admit ConcordeChops reply is a bit weird. But the fact he has the right to say weird things like this on this forum is what makes this forum great!
What are you afraid of that they will wear the same numbers? I don't recall any twins ever being in the same NFL team. Is this a first?
I am a Pats and a Jet fan which probably makes me the dumbest one I guess. Or does it make me the smartest one? Who am I kidding, the dumbest of course.
