    Bill Belichick's HC career

WITH Tom Brady(207 games, 13 seasons):
160-47, 77%(in 13 seasons he has 15 less losses than in the 7 w/o him)
    12 playoff apps
    12 div titles
    9 title game apps
    6 SBs
    4 SB wins
    ZERO losing seasons
    avg. record: 12-4

without Tom Brady(113 games, 7+ seasons):
    51-62, 45%
    ONE playoff app
    1-1 career playoff record
    ZERO div titles
    ZERO title game apps
    ZERO SBs
5 losing seasons in 7 seasons
    avg. record: 7-9

Pure coincidence that the moment Brady stepped on the field BB started winning.

    A) Favre was nowhere near as good as Brady
B)I assume Brady would want to be here and actually prepare to win

this is never happening but if he was available today the majority would want him.

I for one would not want Br*dy or B*l*ch*k on the Jets in any capacity. I would rather wait for an untainted Super Bowl.

how about the more realistic hypothetical that BB stays the first time and drafts Brady here and we have 4 SBs, would we want to throw them away?

finished '94 with 11 wins, and won a playoff game.
were being predicted to win the AFC in '95.
maybe great start in 95 is too strong, but were 4-4 and in playoff contention again before the relocation rumblings began.
had amassed a very talented roster, and were very much trending in the right direction....
and yet you consider that an 'absolute' failure in Cleveland? wrong

and there was no hot seat in NE after they just gave up a first round pick to retain Belichick. wrong again

remind me, what has Br*dy done in his career without Belichick?
that's right.....nothing (other than some rogue cheating)

the Patriots won't be as good these first 4 games, but i guarantee you they will still be playing very competitive football.

    BB with Matt Cassel 10-5

Do we really need to continue this discussion?

that was already taken care of earlier in the discussion. 6 LESS wins than the year before against much weaker schedule PLUS Cassell won a division title w/ Kansas City just 2 years later.

    +1000

I'd rather Saddam Hussein be my QB than that cheating scumbag.

No Brady just Belichick. Brady fell into NEP's lap. They passed on him 5 times before they selected him.

It's awesome that they were being predicted to do nice things, what did they actually do?

they were 4-5 when announcement was made

5 years in Cleveland, ONE winning season, ONE playoff app, ONE playoff win(at home in WC rd) then they got crushed by Pitt in the div rd- same Pitt that would lose at home a week later to probably the worst conf champ of all time.

Brady hasn't had a chance to play w/o BB and no other QB would have had a chance to play for BB had Brady not rescued BB's HC career.

BB was on the hot seat, would he have been fired in 2001? probably not but his career was heading down the same path as Cleveland and he was under pressure regardless what Kraft paid for him.

some folks don't want a "cheater" on their team yet they celebrate a team that cheated for their only championship.

assuming BB stays here we may not make Key deal and definitely don't get 1st rounder for BB so we likely don't take Chad and have the same staff in place that took Brady in NE. it hurts to think about how close we were to being the dynasty team.

at this point, i'd say no to Belichick too.
he's towards the end of his career, and there is just so much baggage.

he's an extremely impressive football guy, but he's also such an unnecessary douche and cheat.
agreed regarding the HOF of cheating....he'd be first ballot

Based on principle I would never want BB, he walked out on us.

    No to Belli too.

Just too smarmy of a douchebag.

I'm going with Bowles and looking at a very bright future for my Jets.

his career was heading down a very promising path in Cleveland..
there was no hot seat in NE, and if they ever were to fire him, he'd have been a HC again in no time.

there is nothing valid to your claims.

what is valid, is that Br*dy has never and will never try to compete w/o Belichick in his corner.
the reverse cannot be said, as Belichick would move on from Br*dy w/o blinking an eye.

So if you're worried so much about principle than why would you want Tom Brady.

Brady never abandoned our team, he has tormented our team on the field but that is completely different.

nothing to validate my claims other than reality. you can pretend the move changed everything but the reality is they were playing awful football before the move.

BB would have been done as a HC if NE fired him, that would have meant 2 failures. he would have been Eric Mangini.

Some folks want a "cheater" on their team because they celebrate a team that's cheated for all of their recent championships.
