Fast-forward to November 2020. I listed 10 candidates who could be running against Trump. Click on a candidate if you prefer him/her to Trump. You can click on as many candidates as you want, and if you participate in the poll and don't click a candidate's name that means you prefer Trump to him/her. There's no option for "I don't like either candidate, so I won't vote for either." Choose the lesser of two evils.

If you prefer Trump to all of them click the last option, and if you prefer Trump to none of them click all nine candidates. Hillary's there because anything's possible, and if you voted for Trump or Hillary in 2016 you might have changed your mind. Kasich is also there because he's centrist enough that he could try to run as a Democrat.

I want to see which candidates get the most support. I expect the more moderate candidates to get the highest numbers in this poll. But it doesn't take into account higher turnout among liberals if a more liberal candidate is nominated. There could also be effects I'm not thinking of right now. The thread is for why you voted the way you did. I'm making this poll because many posters seem like the type the Democrats lost in 2016 but need to win back to win in 2020.

So only Dems or Reps, I'll pass on all of them again. It really is senseless saying if you don't choose one of these, that you are voting for Trump.

I read something that there were certain appeals to more right leaning people too.

Which way around would you want that ticket though?

Honestly I wouldn't care either way... and neither would they. They would work together but Bernie's policies are what they would run on so Id' say a Bernie lead ticket.

I think the odds of Trump running again is slightly towards the no column. The only reason he ran in the first place is because once you've done it all and there's nothing else left to do. . . . set yourself on fire if there's nothing else left to burn . . . something like that. Methinks his inflated ego may be too large for him to be faced with the prospect of being unseated. Then again, he may be seen favorably if his 3rd grade nonsense actually becomes a catalyst for positive change. Anyway, I didn't vote in the poll because Princess Fambro wasn't listed.

I've posted about her before. She's got some decent ideas going on there in Candy Land. Speaking of politics, has anyone been watching 'American Horror Story: Cult'? It's trying really hard to be edgy and sardonic (Trump, the election, meat eating, protesting, bullying, racism, voyeurism, an unconventional marriage, two Mommy lesbians with a kid, an empowered black woman who is mad as hell and is not gonna take it anymore, powerful white guys who are into weird shit, the fat guy who gains a sense of belonging, murderous "clowns" - the metaphor is outstanding  ), but mostly it's political pandering torture porn with no substance.

The only level where it does mildly succeed is that I do feel motivated to punch annoying Evan Peters in the jaw with an uppercut and knock him out. Not because he's doing a good job (he isn't), not because of the current political temperature, cult stereotypes, and mind control that we're supposed to find mildly amusing, but because of that hideous man bun. If I have to see one more asshole in real life sporting that feudal Japan hair do, they better run. Basically, I've only been watching to see if they'll ever mention Scientology and crap on it somehow. I swear, why can't someone in Hollyweird grow a pair. Chicken shit writers all. OK, bye.

I would vote for anyone including Type0's "write-in" candidate of the Dolphins line coach. I agree with jeto above me that its possible trump isn't even a candidate in 2020.

It would be nice if Trump just decided not to run for a second term and Rand Paul could get some real traction. He was the only true republican IMO.

    Paul has no shot anymore.

Rand Paul's national political career ended during the 2nd republican debate when he called Trump a "sophomoric" character who attacks people for their looks and Trump responded back "I never attacked Rand for his looks and believe me- there is plenty of subject matter right there..."

There lies the national career of Rand Paul RIP. 2016 was a hell of a year
