I don't really think Woody is that bad of an owner but he is pretty old and when he sells the team, I hope he sells to someone who is passionate about winning and will do anything and everything to win.
Seriously? Come on, guy. Tuna and Belicheck quit rather than work for Woody. Woody kept Bradshaw around for years after he fired him as GM. On his own, I'm not sure that he has made one good decision regarding the team. He hired another marketing or businessman as team President rather than a football man. If he has made a good decision, it was in hiring Wolfe and Casserley to advise him regarding the GM and HC search, but then he even fucked that up making Bowles and Mac equals. Mac is the one who is responsible for the team long term, which is in direct conflict with what Bowles wants/needs (the short term so he can keep his job). It's why Bowles has continued to trot out Fitz and may be why Fitz was even brought back in the first place. Woody is a doofus, a clueless dumbass. He's only slightly better than that moron Leon Hess.
I don't think that Glennon would be a good fit in our spread offense. If the Jets fired Gailey and switched to a more vertical-type passing attack, I wouldn't be opposed as long as the price is right and he had the understanding that he would be competing for the job with Petty and Hack.
That's why I was saying we need to get rid of Gailey. Glennon would have to learn a new offense. It might as well not be Gailey's.
It's almost as bad the obsessions with some no-name FA WR from Monmouth a few years ago and Chris Simms.
The play design is drawn up very well. He calls the wrong plays in the wrong situations. As articles and others have alluded to, we seem to always have an open receiver that either Fitz has missed or he simply can't reach. He needs help calling the correct plays for the correct situation. His playcalling is old and dry. That's why it might be good to keep the coordinator in house by firing Gailey and promoting an assistant to keep continuity going for the youngsters.
I think it's only one guy, and it just shows that even scrubs have fans. Tebow has them, Rick Mirer had them, Geno has them, we can go on and on.
The Jets didn’t get Glennon. They didn’t fix the o-line. But they did fire Gailey. For the Jets, 1/3 ain’t bad?
