What is your ideal realistic offseason plan?

    1. Trade up for Darnold/Rosen?
    2. Sign Cousins: Draft between Barkely, Chubb, or trade back for more picks
    3. Stay and draft Allen or Mayfield

Just wondering what people are thinking. I'm torn. Part of me likes the idea of siging Cousins and a few other pieces and drafting best available. The other part of me would love to draft a qb and make him a star since we haven't done that. That's a huge risk though and with many questions of Allen and Mayfield I might lean towards siging Cousins.

To round out the offseason it'd be great if we could sign a c, and guard, a cb and resign Demario Davis, Morris Claiborne as our number two cb and Jenkins at the right price. If not I really like Trey Burton.

In the draft draft either Chubb, Barkley, or McGlinchy or trade back for more picks and then draft best available or need the rest of the draft.

    What is everyone else thinking?

Like you I am a bit torn about drafting a QB. I just dont have faith we will make the right choice or develop him correctly.

    So I would go with:

    1. Sign Cousins
    2. Draft Running Back or Wide Receiver High to add to our attack.
    3. Sign FA Center ( Evan Smith )
    4. Sign FA Guard ( Joeckel )
    5. Sign FA Pass Rusher.
    6. Use the rest of the draft on Lineman and pass rushing prospect.

    In that order.

    1. Get our FQB in the draft
    2. Shore up our OL in FA and the draft
    3. Get a game changing or close to game changing RB in the draft
    4. Sign Robinson to bolster our receiving corps

That's all I ask for. Shouldn't be too hard right? :)

Trade all of the players and all of this years' draft picks for picks in next year's draft. Tank 2018 with a bunch of junk vet minimum 1-year rentals, and let our new GM and HC pick a whole fresh team for 2019.

If we could only fire the owner. He is a huge problem. Too bad we can't do that. One year away was nice. Be interested to see what year two does.

"GO GET" Kirk Cousins...give him 100 million fully guaranteed.

    "GO GET" LeVeon Bell

Draft OL with all our first day picks.

Extend all our coaches and GM so they're here for the next decade.

Start the Cousins Club for Jets fans/stans and make it a weekly show during the season.

    Cut Mo, Forte and Ijalana
Key resigns are Demario Davis, Claiborne, ASJ, Ealy, McCown for 1-year if they draft a rookie

    1. Get franchise QB - Best one in Jets eyes. Whether that's signing Cousins, drafting a QB at 6 or moving up to draft one.
    .
    .
    .
    2. Sign a young, high-end starting CB to team with Claiborne and Skrine (two if either Claiborne or Skrine don't return)
    3. Sign a Center or draft one at the top of the 2nd if they're sure one will be there
    4. Obtain pass rushing OLB, either Ansah or Lawrence (doubtful) or draft one by the end of round 2; not an edge setter, a pass-rushing specialist
    5. Add a young RB to the group. Ideally, day 2 of the draft, maybe 4th round
    6. Add a young WR in the middle of the draft (in lieu of Robbie Anderson's antics). Maybe I have too much faith in this group, but like its potential
    7. Add LT and OG prospects via the draft
    8. Sign young, starting DL to take Mo's spot.

    1. Get a FQB.
    2. Get a FQB.
    3. Get a FQB.

Do nothing else until objectives 1, 2, and 3, are achieved.

It's like the old saying about the three most important things to know about real estate: Location. Location. Location.

With the NFL it's: QB. QB. QB.

Its amazing the Giants are gonna get a franchise QB in the draft instead of us.The writing is on the wall here this is how it works. Why couldn't we just tank what good is 5-11 for anyone.Me personally I want to win now so give me Cousins and Levon Bell and some pass rushers and draft BPA at 6 and we are officially contenders.

Cut Forté, Wilkerson, Ijalana, and Skrine.

Re-sign Enunwa, Claiborne, Davis, ASJ, Ealy, Catanzaro, Miles, Bass, Brooks, Cooper, Tomlinson, Middleton, Pennel, Thomas, Miles and Stanford.

    1. FA
    OL
    - shore up the OL by signing Norwell for LG and either Jensen or Richburg to be the new starting C. Also sign another C to be the backup. I’d love to sign the Pats’ Adrian Waddle to play RT, but don’t think he would ever sign here even if he becomes a FA, so sign one of the following players: the Ravens' James Hurst, the Rams Cornelius Lucas, the Cardinals’ Earl Watford, the Bills’ Seantrel Henderson, or the Chargers’ Michael Schofield to compete with/push Shell at RT. Hurst and Schofield can also play OG. Lucas and Henderson can also play the LT spot.

WR - Sign Allen Robinson to shore up the WR corps.

CB - Malcolm Butler would be wonderful, but like Waddle, why would he leave NE to sign here? I’m sure the Jets are a laughingstock to the Pats. Even if the Jets doubled the Pats offer, I doubt he’d sign here.Sign Kyle Fuller or Ross Cockrell and a slot CB (would love to add Nickell Robey-Coleman or Brian Poole, but why would either leave their teams to come to the Jets?) to help shore up the CB position. Maybe Leonard Johnson or Aaron Colvin to man the slot CB position. Neither is great, but either would be an upgrade over Skrine and would be cheaper.

QB - Sign Teddy Bridgewater. Failing that, re-sign McCown.

    2. Draft
Draft a FQB prospect. Ideally, Mayfield would drop to them at #6, but I’d be shocked if that happens. If they really like Mayfield or Rosen, trade up and get him. Use this year’s 1st & 2nd 2nd round pick, and next year’s 1st & 2nd. If they are unable to trade up, and neither Rosen nor Mayfield are there at #6 take Barkley if he’s there. If not, take Connor Williams.

    Ideal draft
1 – Baker Mayfield, QB - the Jets are unable to trade up, but the Jets get lucky for once and Mayfield falls to them at #6
    2a – Mike McGlinchey, LT
    2b – Sony Michel, RB
3 – Ogbonnia Ororonkwo, OLB, Uchenna Nwosu, OLB, or Dorance Armstrong, OLB (they'll probably have to trade up to get one of them) I'd use the rest of my picks if necessary to move up and get one of these guys This would be a 4-player draft I could live with.
4 - Jaylen Samuels, FB (perfect for WCO is an equally adept runner, receiver and blocker (if this pick didn't have to be used to trade up to secure an OLB) or a slot CB

    Anything after that is gravy

    These are my two cents:

From the way Nick Foles played in Eagles, I get a feeling that, if Foles ever came to New York, he will fall face down.

Not just Foles, but Kirk Cousins, or any other highly-touted QB prospect of this year. Hell - McCown had a career year this year, so what did Bowles do? He kicked the OC out.

Maybe Carson Wentz IS special. Maybe he IS something. But - I am inclined to think that, any QB decent enough will succeed in Philadelphia.

So - all the draft talk is at best moot unless you address how you can fix the offensive philosophy/tutelage in Todd Bowles's coaching staff. Thus far, Toddy never developed a young QB in his entire Jets career, so that should tell you how he feels about these young kids.

Right now I'm on the fence with Cousins. I'm not thrilled with any drafted QB other than Rosen and Darnold. I don't want to use draft picks to move up for them. Right now the Jets should use their free agency capital on offensive lineman and corner backs. Draft Barkley because we have no RB we can depend on. Look to sign Keenum, Bridgewater. Because no rookie QB is gonna take the Jets anywhere with Bowles and Bates around. So we should stop fooling ourselves with that. I would look to take a QB like Falk in the 2nd round and best pass rushing OLB with the other 2nd pick.
