Yes, and I didn't mean cocaine is good for anybody. But I do think steroids are used to cheat the game, whereas using cocaine is just stupidity (or a disease, if you look at it in that fashion). I don't think anybody used cocaine to hit more home runs or strike out more batters.
yes lets put an asterisk next to all those records he broke  im telling you steroids are overated.
So you are assuming no Sox used steroids? I would go on a limb and say there were users on every team and by the way the yanks put it in cruise control late in '00 and won when they had to, they would have gotten another game if needed. just like the guys today are "clean" from steroids. Anyone who thinks that players from every team weren't using steroids and still aren't using steroids is naive. So i guess we should strip all the records from about '95-current?
Was it Doc or Darryl that was on such a coke bender that he couldnt even make the championship parade?
Yes the Yanks should have an asterick next to their WS titles but so should Boston, Anaheim, Florida, Arizona and whoever else won WS titles over the last 15 or so years.
I have to say, that one would surprise and disappoint me just a bit. Not because I like Schill and I'm biased (which I admit); moreso because he'd have to know that he would go down as a bigger villain than even Barry Bonds, after his sanctimonious Congressional testimony. That would've taken balls the size of cantalopes to pull off. I've always suspected Johnny Damon (yes, even as a Red Sox). He has that classic cranial growth and increased muscle pack from his skinny Kansas City days. Nomar's always been a good suspect. I don't think Manny has the discipline to take the stuff, but I know that he's one of those workout fiends. It's possible, but I'd put better odds on him and the rest of the Latin contingent with amphetamines.
Damon did look different in his KC days. Now he looks like he orders roast duck with mango salsa. (And I'm sure he didn't use them in 2004, so that WS title is still legitimate, junc.) I don't suspect Schilling because he was very anti-steroids in that Caminiti Sports Illustrated story.
He's a porker like Babe Ruth. Ortiz is the last power hitter I would suspect, but I wouldn't be shocked with any of these guys.
He played in 48 games in 1995. Whereas Ortiz played in over 130 games in the 2 seasons I mentioned. And since when is posting stats making things up?
